Download K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 1.69.
It is the one-stop-shop for all the codecs you'll ever need. The size is thirty megabytes. You can get it from the digit's DVD/CD too. It is generally bundled every month.
You can also download VLC media player 0.8.6. It is a lightweight media player (9 MB) that can play virtually every media format out there (audio and video). It is also generally there on every month's CD/DVD bundled with digit.
