use only ZoneAlarm Free Firewall (not Security Suite) or Kerio Personal Firewall....and turn off all the special effects like shadows, animations in XP....

u better run an AV Scan.....
crss.exe is a process which is registered as the W32.AGOBOT.GH worm!
apart from this, other files u listed r Windows System Files...(smss.exe can also be a virus, if it's not in default folder!)

download Stinger and run it...
*vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

or do an online scan here...
*housecall.trendmicro.com/

post the HijackThis log here.....

u have NewDotNet, Naupoint spyware/malwares.
first go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and uninstall these if u find them:-
1]Quick Search Bar

2]Naupoint Toolbar

3]and i would also recommend u to uninstall MSN Messenger Plus, as it bundles Spywares along with it!

4]do u know what is that AdminTask? hav u installed it by urself? i suspect it and if dont know what it is, uninstall it.

after this close ALL apps, and run HijackThis, and select the red (and also blue if u remove AdminTask, Messenger Plus) entries and clikc Fix.

then restart in Safe mode and delete these files, if u find them:-
1]nem219.dll
2]naupointbar.dll
3]QuickSearchBar1_27.dll
4]admtask.exe (if u remove AdminTask)
5]MsgPlus.exe (if u remove Messenger Plus!)
and also delete the Folders containing these files (but do not delete Windows default system folders!)

after this get LSPFix and run it.

then download CleanUp! and run it....
*cleanup.stevengould.org/

download McAfee Stinger and run it, link given in my above post!....
then post a fresh log....
i suggest that u do a virus scan for ur PC, using any online scanner or Kaspersky Antivirus or NOD32 Anti Virus....

:!: :?: :!:  what???? what happened after running LSPFix? LSPFix does not delete any files.....it repairs the WinSock Layers which would be damaged by NewDotNet Malware and QuickSearchBar is a NewDotNet variant.....

LSP-Fix is a free utility to repair a specific type of problem associated with certain Internet software. This type of software is known as a Layered Service Provider or LSP, a piece of software that can be inserted into the Windows TCP/IP handler like a link in a chain. However, due to bugs in the LSP software or deletion of the software, this chain can get broken, rendering the user unable to access the Internet.

anyway..i am sorry, that u have to format ur system...

@aman: what happened after u ran the program???

It threw up about three results...i dont remember exactly ....
and i think there were two coloumns...like when creating a playlist...that sort..
So i put all the three results on the other side and said finish...After i restarted my Pc It went DEAD slow (worse than a 486) and Avast said i wud not be able to protect the IAMP ,POP3 and other ports...
Actually i also used Clean Up! so i am not sure whaich one caused the problem ....a friend of mine said that My LSP's got deleted ...sumting like dat...
I tried System restore but i did not work....
So ultimately i had to format...And No My PCs running like a horse....Hey swatkat...i think it was an angel in disguise!!lol!
