I am just a bit curious to know how many of us folks here don't use any UPS for power back up .

Please also mention your reason for not using one along with your location .

How many using a CVT / Servo Stabilizer also along with an UPS?

Lol its advisdable to use one and especially in India its a must:D:D:D

You dont know when there is a power faliure and then suddenly your system goes off.

I have had bad experience with it. One of my Mobo also went off due to that. And important is you loose all the data aswell if you are online the cookies are lost or deleated.

So better using an power back up. May be UPS or inverter

I do not use any UPS, but then most of time I use laptop and the only desktop in my home is meant to work as the data dump. So it is switched on, data extracted and turned off again!

The original question was to non-users of UPS :p

But, like others am replying too - I'm using APC UPSes for 7+ years. They are great. Nothing like them. :)

No ups. My system restarts once or twice a month. Here we have uncut and super stable power for weeks. Though you can compensate for ups by having a good psu with a wide range of input voltage and overvoltage protection.

I don't use any.

I bought an APC UPS, some 4.5 years ago with the computer. It blew itself 3 times within the warranty period. I got it replaced, though.

For some 3 years, we have no UPS. It irritates me when the power supply goes off when I'm doing some important work.

i m not using ups
coz i hav a compuinverter at home ( a inverter with high power with specail quota for desktops )

so if light goes i get backup of around 5-6 hrs on my inverter much better than ups.

and for laptop the battery is always charged

one of my pc doesn;t have U.P.S but i have put an Surge protector to it(just like an extension board but with surge filter)

these days reliability is very less so i suggest folks to go for ups or some protection atleast....i have another pc with APC-UPS-.5KVA
