TDF has done a quite good job in recruiting technology geeks from everywhere, now how many of these are physics geeks?

Everybody does not like physics, but when it comes to us.. We love it..

So, this kind of physics discussion thread..

I am in class 8th, going to 9th..

Well, count me in..

I am in class 9(going to 10) and I love physics with the bottom of my heart:-D

I am a cat and I don't respect the laws of physics.

I am 11th Science stream. and I would say.that physics upto 10 class was walk in the park considering what it is now :wink:

v = u + at
s = ut + 1/2 at^2
v^2 = u^2 + 2 as

I'm a physics geek now ;)

k=1/2mv^2

errrm...been a long time. My graduation was in Physics. Used to love it.

Let me see how many of you lads (X and below) will keep this opinion after a couple of months in class XI.

I'm an Engineer by qualification, but I know a fair bit of physics. In fact, I have a lot of interest in physics and physical chemistry.

Though my specific interests fall into the realm of applied physics, I do like heat transfer, mass transfer, solid state physics, chemical physics and semiconductor physics a lot.

Hated physics as long as I was in school. As I studied for my degree, I found higher physics to be more and more interesting. In fact, higher physics is nothing like what you have learnt till 12th. It is much more difficult.

IMO, science isn't taught well at all till 12th (Now that I think about it, till 12th I really learnt no useful science - it was all a waste of time and served only the purpose of mugging up for those entrance exams that purportedly test "aptitude").

Well I'm obviously not a physics geek!! But it was my favorite subject in school! :)

Stop spamming. "I love physics" in every post is a little too much. Avoid.

physics gets real in XI-XII and more interesting in college.

Well as a subject it was easy, and interesting. And no, i would not like to be geek in Physics coz imo it should be in the field you interest most, mine are different.

I loved Physics, Only subject I scored in and dreamt of becoming a Physicist too. I was one of the only 3 in the class who could solve those crazy physics problems ;)

That's the end of it.

Graduation is in Sciences of a different kind and I left it there.

I still try to calculate the G-force I experience while driving the car and try to calculate in my mind the tractional centrifugal force that would take to throw my car off the road on a speeding curve on the road :p thats about the level of Physics I am on now.

BTW do we have anyone into pure sciences in graduation? Physics specifically. I do not even know if any courses exist in such field.

I didnt get you.What about Bsc Physics, Msc Physics and PHDs etc..?
I loved science but I couldnt study pure science as I had to go for b.tech but still I think have studied many things in science, physics especially as I was mechanical.

Ironically, one of my friends did Bsc in Physics, then he went to study travel and tourism and worked an year in airport and now doing MBA in Travel and Tourism.I dont get why he did physics in graduation.

My cousin did Bsc.chemistry, after completing that, he spent one year to prepare for medical entrance.But he didnt get MBBS or BDS he got only BHMS and now he's a homeo doctor.Thats the effect of professional courses on pure sciences.

Lets take engineering, many people work in IT companies after studying engineering courses like electrical,mechanical,civil etc.What are they doing there? Why did they study their core branch if they wanted to work in an IT company? I'm a mech and I had exactly only 1 paper in anyway related to IT. It was C programming studied in 5th semester.Civil is also like that.But most guys went to IT field after doing these courses.The resources took to teach them engineering were wasted.

Sorry but :lol:

P.S.: Your point is very much valid mind. But there is a very obvious answer to that. Opportunity, jobs, goal-based approach, etc.

11th and 12th science is just about getting you enough basics for engineering. It does not provide a proper base for scientific reasoning.

I know quite a lot of people who did M.Sc in physics or chemistry and are doing engineering related work. :)
