how to control a goalie in fifia08?

i am really getting fed up by my goalie. i have set automatic goalie to semi-pro but still he cannot save a ball shot from a mile. it is really upsetting when you have 4-0 lead and end game with 4-4!! i tried to control the keeper manually but just cannot get the pointer over his head. the control shows in the help only shows how to do it via a gamepad. can somebody please tell me how to control the goalie manually with a keyboard? i want the pointer over the head of the keeper

Got the same problem, but there is a way around........
as soon as opponent is near the Larger D or is about to enter, press GK Charge button ( W in keyboard , 1 in gamepads ) and he will either shoot away or your goalkeeper does it away, It's simple...................

^cool... but isn't it a sort of cheating...
any more suggestions?...

nt always...W really helps..but a good player shoots it..watevr the case

to control the goalie tap shift(left) if playing with keyboard

or tap right analog stick with gamepad

To take control of the goalie, by default you must press left shift a couple of time when the ball is with the opposite team .

Press arrow keys with D OR A to move in a particular direction.

And if opponent is near press W and A so that goalie slides and take the ball.W and D also helps
