Hmmmm...I have no idea about using MS-SQL server, but I am hearing for the first time "MS MySQL server 2005". Are you sure about it?

If you are talking about MS SQL Server, Why execute DML / DLL commands when it provides awesome front end GUI tool? But yes for practise, you can write the SQL in a .sql file and execute it. Google it for details... i've only used the GUI.

When you deal with MS Products the first place you want to look is technet.

*technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb418498.aspx

There documentation is quite comprehensive and should have any information you are looking for.

Open "SQL Server Management Studio", there you can type in the queries after connecting to DB and execute them.
