Hello friends,

I am not able to access the college wifi since it requires proxy settings. I am not able to find on my LG O1, neither at browser nor anywhere. Can anyone suggest if its possible to enter http proxy settings, if yes, how ?

I found these commands on web..
Here are the instructions to enable the proxy in the android web browser.

1. > adb shell
2. # sqlite3 /data/data/com.google.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db
3. sqlite> INSERT INTO system VALUES(99,’http_proxy’, ‘proxy:port’);
4. sqlite>.exit

This might make the browser connect to net, BUT I have two concerns
1. DO i need to root my phone before this patch ?
2. Will the other internet based apps also connect to internet like market, navigation etc ?

AFAIK there is one option of accessing wifi through proxy on androids but it requires rooting the phone. The same problem exists with BB OS too.
