I like the N95 style but its too bulky and the price is much heavier.... :D ....So....what say.... any other suggestions?

req:

would prefer a wide screen since I am planning to go wap
GPS prefered
A2DP for Moto snook (S9)
easy connectivity to laptop (i use W700i now for dialup....hope the speed will improve if i use a phone with edge)
Wireless connectivity is also a plus(but not necessary)
Price: around N95 8GB price( about 28k)

I'll be very greatful If anyone can suggest me a good phone :) thanks a lot

That's mostly due to the 8GB built-in flash memory and also because the N9x series are a bit more premium compared to N8x series phones.

N8 series are predominantly candybars..N9 series are sliders or flaps or watever(nething with weird designs and huge clamshells fal in the 9x series.....

^^ N81 and N80 are sliders.

n7x : entry level nseries
n8x: mid range
n9x: premium

HTC diamond comes with an extremely poor 900mAh batter.

so does N95, which means the battery won't last long on frequent use of internet/display/wifi/bluetooth.

even my motorkr E6 has a 1200mAh battery and thanks to it, I easily get 2-3 days of battery life

why isn't w960i considered here?

Yeah buddy...thats also a part of this confusion...sorry conversation :)

The looks of N82 is not appealing....does it look like a 20k phone? (N95 doesn't look like a 28k phone either but still.....)

Premium? what way? thats what is confusing....

The N9x series is positioned higher than the N8x series. In other words the N9x series is like the Pulsar 220 while the N8x series is like the Pulsar 200. Some people argue as why is there any need to go for the Pulsar 220 when Pulsar 200 does most of things almost equally well. But still 220 has a few aces up its sleeve too and most importantly has higher snob and flaunt value. Same is the case here. Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte has lesser features than an N82 but still costs 60k. It's all marketing.

umm..wouldnt call the N91 a premium really..newaz..the N9 series is the father of all Nokia cellhones..and from them the others generate..for example the N95 came out followed by the N82..the N93 was folowed by the N73..thus the case...

N91 was premium. I still remember the day it was launched and I went to a mobile shop and asked its price. The shopkeeper had told me 28k. That was exactly two years ago. It was one of Nokia's most expensive phones when launched.

I wonder why u need GPS, it is not a need and quite confusing. In Hong Kong there are a lot of buildings so it is very hard to use.

If not GPS, go for the W960i It is a great phone and it is slim and lite. It also has Symbian UIQ if you need apps. SE Xperia is also a great choice. Go for it!

Right right but why is N95 more expensive than N82? (dont tel me its premium again) feature wise...is it really premium?

I am not in hongkong :) I am either in bangalore or chennai. the GPS for bothe the cities are quite accurate in Nokia phones. I've used it myself

I think n95 8GB has 8GB memory. But n82 has similar functions so get the n82. It is a better deal.

I'd suggest diamond or n82 as well. I find spending an extra 8k on N95 worthless. But then again, if you are ready to spend 20k why bother about 8k extra :D

As I said being a part of a higher model range gives it the privilege of being priced higher. Plus N95 isn't really priced higher than N82. Its only around 1k more.

Features:
N82 >> N95 8GB >> diamond
Price: (worthiness)
N82 >> N95 8GB >> diamond

N95 is considered as the king of mobile phones now. N82 is just like another great performing phone.

N95 <-- Royal Enfield
N82 <-- Pulsar 180

Many people buy Pulsar but Enfield is the headturner.

dood...RE has some 1200cc engine capacity (or somewhere around that)
pulsar max is 220

but in this case.... N82 but for the looks beats N95 clean

The maximum capacity Royal Enfield bike available in India is the Machismo 500 which is 500cc and not 1200cc. :p

n95 and n82 screen size is same

get n82 why waste money it also has Xenon flash which n95 lacks

but n95 got infrared which is of no use these days except transferring files from w200i

+ n95 has got dedicated music keys

The N95 and the N82 are a wash. Both have their own advantages and also disadvantages. The N95 is a better music device and better to watch videos. The N82 is with his Xenon-flash a great imaging device

u bet on this dude...i hv n95 8gb frm last 6 months...im a music freak...almost evryday on an average i listen to 4-5 hours of music..the battery doesnt drown...and fr tht matter the battery doesnt drown tht very easily...infact the battery backup is amazingly good....the only thing tht drowns the battery is the camera..!!

^^ Just google for "N95 vs N82 photo" and you will find loads of pages comparing the two phones pics.

N82's camera is definitely better than that of N95's. But everything else, N95 is far ahead, be it music or navigation or videos or internet, main reason being it's superb display.
