India: 153 new MPs are 'tainted'

At least 153 of the newly-elected MPs in India have criminal cases pending against them, according to a study by civil society groups.

Groups working on electoral reforms say the opposition BJP has the highest number of tainted MPs at 43 while the Congress party is number two with 41.

probably coz the only way you can become an MP (in india) is by first becoming a criminal...

ye to india ki purani kahani hai..........
but, i think this no is decreasing coz of political education created by all over in media, print + elec....!!!
seen the amir khan ad during election tym ??? At least dont vote for criminals......!!!

This tym huge campaigns were run by different ogranisations and channels and newspapers against these criminal candidates aka bahubali neta ........i think these kind of things must go on so that the political parties get some msg !!!
