Jio TV has most of it. Then, there is Hotstar. Both of them are free and legal. Hotstar has paid options as well. If you are into movies, Eros Now and other production houses are also offering different apps. All legal.

Install any emulator. Genymotion is good.

It's working but Jio TV won't work without being connected to Jio. Any other alternative?

Use a hotspot from a Jio mobile. That might work.

It is the main app in Android TV box available in the market. Just Google - there are several add-ons for Indian channels.

If someone has Jio Sim then JioTV along with Hotstar is the best app which covers most Indian channels.

I used to have Kodi on my PC. Was not sure how safe are these addons, provided, I find them.

It worked on WiFi for me. But, there was a Jio SIM active on mobile when I test it.
I need something which does not require jio or any specific Sim.

There are several legal apps - Yupp TV, Voot TV, nexG TV, Ozee TV, Sony LIV, Colors TV, ditto TV, Tata Sky Mobile TV, Idea Mobile TV, Vodafone mobile TV, Direct to Mobile (Videocon d2h), Airtel TV, Dish TV, Bsnl TV, etc. are few to name.

There are news channel apps also available such as AajTak, NDTV, Zee News, ABP Live News, News 18, India News Live, DD News, News Nation, News 24, Times Now, BBC News, etc. to name a few.

Do they stream live news channels? I think the screen will be full of ads in those apps even the dedicated news channel app.

No.

Before switching to Jio I have been using a few of them. In fact watching &TV on Ozee app in HD after telecast (not Live) used to be without any ad breaks.

also add "Hotstar" to that lists, "Star network channels" (live) can be stream there and old episodes can be viewed on "Hotstar"..
For live streaming International LIVE channels..

That's not required.
I use JioTV on my laptop with Bluestacks without any issue.
You just need to login to your Jio account with your registered email as login ID.
But in my case it is saying require jio connection our something. Registered email with the Sim?
