The E8500 uses Intel’s 45nm Penryn derived Wolfdale core, with a 3.16GHz clock speed, 6MB of L2 cache, and support for SSEE4.1. Overall, even in its stock configuration this processor was a strong performer, while consuming less power than Intel’s previous generation 65nm products. I heard that yorkfield is going to be 2.6 GHz to 3.6 GHz
But I am going to patiently wait for Nehalem

The Fact that it's 45nm suffices .

Gigahertz anything >2.4 is fine otherwise OCing is always there .

but Core2 is dying. I feel its better to wait till Nehalem arrives to make an upgrade(of a dramatic, high end configuration type)

Guys, that way you ll just keep waiting always.. IMO wolfdales are good enuf to last until atleast intel switches to a 32nm fab.

Intel just copy lot of thing from and Nehalem is one of them.guys can any 1 no when E7300 is launch
