Today, LG has made an official announcement of the Optimus 2X. To recap on the specs, the Optimus X2 will be the first Tegra2-powered GSM Smartphone along with the dual-core Cortex A9 processor. Outfitted with a 8MP camera, the device is able to deliver Full HD (1080p) playback ad recording via the NVIDIA SoC.

The Display is a 4-inch WVGA screen and comes with 8GB of storage space, which can be increased via a MicroSD card slot. The Optimus 2X also has an HDMI port at the bottom of the device for full HD video and it also comes with DLNA support for content sharing. Those interested in video calling can do so via the 1.3MP front facing camera.

With regards to the OS, the Optimus 2X will launch with Android 2.2 (Froyo) and will eventually be upgraded to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). LG has not confirmed the prices or GSM bands, but has said that the device will head towards Asia and Europe within the next few months.

cause the mobile was tested before Gingerbread was out. will most probably release with Gingerbread onboard.

about price, look here. it should be costing around 200$ or about 22,000 here.

Battery life is a concern. Excited that something really capable device is coming from lg. Everybody here talks about lg devices as non reliable and below par. But optimus series is making smartphone market really competitive. Today if someone is saying to be beware of lg phones, they are surelly some crazy nokia or samsung fanboys

Hey Sam.Shab i don’t think it will come that much cheap because it is powered by a 1GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. it defiantly cost double in India.
