Reinstall java VM. Most of the times, that the culprit. Can you run any other Java based apps? (like azureus etc.?)

@infra_red_dude-YES, reinstall JRE from the sun java website. When you download with a download manager try to download without splitting the file, it sometimes corrupts. Use wget or WinWget for Windows if you know how

Option 1. do you have BearShare or any other p2p? Just read the last post in this thread
*www.gnutellaforums.com/general-windows-support/2120-limewire-disappears.html

Option 2. Uninstall JRE. Install Limewire WITH the bundled JRE

Try deleting the limewire preferences folder.Assuming you are using XP and installed it in C:\ drive,it can be found in

C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Application Data\LimeWire.Do this while limewire is closed!!
