Hi! I have very little knowledge about networking.

The situation is, I am from Kumarswamy Layout, Bangalore. The one and only ISP here is Nertavati Boradband & TV something. They call it Spectranet because they connect with that ISP at some level.
But here is the thing. All computers in my area connect to the same default gateway. Every computer is assigned a ststic IP.

Is it possible to create a network that will allow the upload and download of files at a faster rate ? Just in my area. If so please advise in detail what it is called and how to set it up. Consider there will be no objections from the Netravati broadband provider.

Thanks
