Make one now .. and u'll have something to replace with in a few months ... for with the current resources i think a guy already own's one :

Two Dual Core Opteron 285's, Tyan K8WE, (2) XFX 7950 gx2 SLI (570/1550), Ageia PhysX card, 16GB RAM, (4)Seagate 750GB SATA300 drives ~ 3 terabytes, (2) 15,000rpm 146GB scsi raid, Dual 750Watt power supplies, Apple 30" Cinema at 2560x1600, ... & plenty of blue lights.

A bit of oc'ing and i think it'll do for now ...

A

Intel X6800
Asus/Intel 975 mobo
4X1GB DDR 2 1000mhz
1900XTX OC Crossfire

G

Dual Core 2 Duo X6800 CPU
3 GB DDR2 RAM
Quadro FX 4500 X 2
Tyan workstaton motherboard

I'd love to have all the stuff people mention here mixed into one somehow and a theatre sized screen

ITS A DREAM MACHINE, isnt it???
So dreaming anything isnt bad.....who is going to buy that kind of rigs any ways

........

G

akshayt, plz keep your advice to yourself....they are pointless

it's a dream machine, & not for gaming, but for 3d workstation, thats why i said Dual CPU & Quadro.

& btw..i don't like ATI or SLI/XFire anywa

$ 4GB 8 GB, well....if u know workstation usage, u will know that 3Ds Max, Maya, & XSI can't address more then 3 GB in viewport

Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800
dfi lanparty board based on ati rd600 chipset (not released yet ..but will be one hell of an overclocker )
or asus P5WDH DELUXE - intel 975x - best board out there for oc for conroe ..(without any hardware modding )
Mushkin XP2-8000 Redline - 4 gb ram .. (dual channel mode )
nvidia 7950 gx2 -- xfx xxx edition
tuniq tower 120 ( cpu heatsink )
wd raptor 150 gb x2 - raid 0 for os and app
seagate 750 gb sata 2 for data ( hoping it will work as intended)
600-700 watt quality psu .. maybe antec
creative sound blaster x-fi - platinum
creative gigaworks 7.1 thx cenrtified speakers
any good 19" lcd with 1600x1200 support
also cooler master blue ice for northbridge cooling
and zalman cu-900 for gpu cooling ..

LOL nice thread

. All you guys suggested pathetic speakers for a dream system. As for me, I'd be happy with a Conroe E6600+2GBHZ DDR2 800 GSkill+DFI RD600 motherboard added to my existing system. I already bought a pro level EMU 0404 to drive my speakers. Gonna dump the X-Fi soon. I don't believe in posting configs that I'll never have... I hope to get the rest of the stuff within the next six months

.

this is not just dream config for me .. i am getting it in a months time ..

I need the config of a High end Alienware gaming system...

R

I suggest get a 1900XT CF rather than 7950GX2.

antec is not globally high quality and the max is 550watts only.

1.Dual Core 2 Duo X6800 CPU over cloaked to 4.7 Ghz
2.ASus 975 chipset based deluxe Motherboard
3.4*750 GB seagate SATA 2 in RAID config
4.Ati X1900XTX crossfire
5.Blue Ray Writer
7.Antec PSU 640 watts
8. Antec Cabinet or Cooler Master
9.32'' Inch Philips LCD MOnitor
10.4 Gb corsair XMS DDR2 RAM
11.Logitech Z5500 5.1 channel speaker
12.Microsoft Wireless Keyboard and mOuse
13.1 Mbps Broadband connection
14.160 Gb external Harddisk
15. Windows Vista Ultra (genuine)
16.

i simply buy an Aleinware powered PC.

R

just what i said to knight17-
just an alienware...why dont u dream of something BIIIIIIIIIIIG.
.cheers.

i will just wait n watch..

R

ur wait for what and after that what will u watch?
