Hello People,
I had recently installed windows XP with Windows 7 in dual boot mode, problem is in windows xp x64 sound is not working,

in device manager:

other devices:
Audio Device On High Definiytion Audio Bus

is shown in yellow question mark. (ref attached screenshot.)

i am also attaching reports for motherboard and sound produced by many softwares.

my Laptop model is Sony Vaio VPCEH15EN.

i had tried a lot to find right drivers, things are working fine with preinstalled windows 7, please suggest.

Hello People,

So this means, sound IS working in Win 7, right. Then, you will have to find sound drivers in the CD which you must be having, which comes with bundled with the motherboard.
Or, you can try finding drivers on, driverguide.com
You will have to register once on driverguide. But after you do, you can find almost every driver, you need.

Search your driver CD which contains driver for win 7, see the name of that driver, and then search for the same name for win xp. Hopefully it will solve your problem.

Give this a try. It should work.

*downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_De...sion=Windows XP 64-Bit Edition*&DownloadType=

Also you have the "Intel® HM65 Express Chipset", so you can search Intel's site for this if you want.

tried it, but didn't gave any result.

no cd is provided by sony, besides on their website they provide drivers for win7 onwards only.
