I had an intel 865GBF motherboard, it had some trouble and has to be replaced now. Thing is that the dealer said that he could replace it but he would suggest i change it for a intel 875 motherboard. I have 1GB of 400MHz of RAM and a graphics card and a sound card.

Is is good to do it or do i stay with the 865

Can someone give me the approx price of the 875 board also

ur just changin ur mobo
since u did well with the 865 .. i suggest u stick to the 865
theres no point in paying 1k more for an 875 ...
it might have extra features ... but i dun think ull be even using them since u were happy with ur 865 ( i presume ofcourse )
if u were upgrading things wouldve been seen differently !!
also like i said 875 is 865 on steroids ... however supporting the same processor , ram .. etc technology wise
it perfroms a lil better yes .... but again ... not worth it for just a change in mobo .

suppose if u gonna using ur system for designing purpose you can go for D915 board which rocks for designing purpose. Suppose ur not on the designing line stick on to 865 board.

I am also using D865GBF mb, mine had problem when running 3D games, it simply restarts the computer.

However, I downloaded latest Intel Extreme Graphics 2, and also latest BIOS update from Intel website!

Though these day I have not installed any 3D games, but the system is working fine.

i suggest you to download lates BIOS and Extreme Graphics2 from intel website.
