My friend need a new motherboard as his current motherboard gone kaput!!

He's looking for hybrid(preferable) or non-hybrid onboard graphics chipset motherboard...

System Spec :-

Intel Pentium D 935 3.2 Ghz
Ram 2 Gb ddr2
Hdd 1 Tb
Graphic card POV 8600 gts (i think)

Basically he wants a good graphic solution onboard !!

Budget is 5-8k


Any suggestion guyz ?? Plz reply asap...

Why does he need a good onboard graphic solution, wen he has a discrete GPU?
At that budget, he can sell off his proccy n RAM, and upgrade to Athlon ii x4...

he cant sell it n upgrade....

if his gpu fails.... atleast he can run his system through onboard chipset !

Recommened some mbs plz ?

^^DDR3 ram needed for it. but I support the idea of a fresh upgrade. going for some DDR2 based board will keep the price under 8k but noticeable increase in performance.

By selling off his current cpu and Ram he should manage to get 1-1.5k at least and 2GB DDR3 ram is Dirt Cheap now - so it's wise to get new cpu+mobo+2GB or 4GB ram by spending 2-2.5k extra ;-)

Yeah, a fresh AMD rig for 8k will be much better idea and will also be much faster.
Its not a wise decision to go for a DDR2 Mobo at 8k. So, better go for a new rig.

if he do upgrade then what are his options ??

he got only 8k to spend not more than dat !

can he get proccy,motherboard n ram in 8k ??
ram will be ddr3 ??

mind u he cant inc. budget more than 8k !!

As TOPGEAR said, If he sells his proccy + RAM he can fetch ~1.5K which s sufficient for a good rig..

Asus M4A78LT-M LE @ 2.6k
DDR3 1333Mhz 2Gb @ 1k

TOTAL: 7k. get it from SMC.

or get Gigabyte GA-MA-785GMT-US2H for about 1000 more, if avl in stock. or go for 2X2Gb DDR3 stick. or Athlon II X4 630/635 for 1k over X3.

for mobo it's better to stick with Gigabyte GA-MA-785GMT-US2H ;-)

Guyz my friend has decided to upgrade and will buy Gigabyte GA-MA-785GMT-US2H + Athlon II X4 645 + 2 Gb ddr3 ram

btw he wanna sell his Pentium D n ddr2 ram so he can buy ddr3 ram out of it !

does he sell ram,proccy to NP dealers ?
how much can he expect for both ??

@ico - lolzz !! Hmmm mayb dis winter as i hope so :p

btw my ip is banned in VA Bomb dnt knw properly bt Zzikko was telling that sm1 was hacking n using ur name so Jacky banned him ! Unfortunately my ip got banned too :(
