Just want to confirm any of these two mobiles. I am confused because, Nexus 4 is too old. And is it good to buy a 2012 model when we can get a 2014 model Moto G.

hardware wise it is still holding good.

It is ageing software wise. You have to be dependent on custom ROM for updating the device.

Same is the case of Moto G. Both phones providing updates till Android 4.4.4. Any any of these, didn't confirm whether they get Android L update or not ?
So I think I should go ahead with Nexus 4

Nexus 4 is extremely fragile ( one single drop can break it! ), has no durability, has serious thermal throttling issues, has the worst battery backup ever on a smartphone in recent times, doesnt support OTG without rooting/custom kernels, priced way much higher than it should be in 2014.Motorola has confirmed android L update for Moto G while Google has simply dumped N4 as a part of their so called 18 month update cycle.

I ( and many other sensible buyers) would personally choose a phone that is hundred times more usable than a fancy phone only for benchmarks and dual booting anyday.

^^you haven't tried nexus 4 didn't you. Dual sim phones has a very little custom support and similar is what the case with moto g. Nexus 4 lived its life pretty well software wise and still a developers darling. I second you on pricing but still the phone is a nice device.

The price is like Moto G for 11500(with warranty) and Nexus 4 for 14400 (without warranty). Does 1 gb ram of Moto G be a problem for app installation.?

@sushoven,
What are you suggesting ??

The Moto G is getting Android L. This has been confirmed by motorola. You can check any good tech news site. They all have an article with the name "Android L coming to Moto X and Moto G". If I were you I'd go for a 16GB Moto G and have peace of mind rather than buying a still very good but old phone that has no official support.

+1 Nexus 4

RAM has nothing to do with apps installation....

Put N4 and Moto G side by side and you will close this thread :D Actually you can't

- - - Updated - - -

I assure everyone here that when Moto G official support will end even then N4 dev support will be far better than that :D choice is yours..Aandroid L might be last update for Moto G but N4 will live long longer than dual sim moto g atleast

Motorola Moto X and Motorola Moto G in line to receive Android "L" update

I won't buy dual sim for any reason. For a dual sim elchepo Nokia would do better.

i second this. slapping glass on both side of a mobile that heats up badly doesn't help. If you don't care about custom roms, go for G eye closed. If you are a custom rom addict, Nexus 4 with some hard case.

Most of the people are scared of rooting So Custom rom is out of question for most people.

well it is one point but once you managed to root it. It is a all of a different scenerio. In XDA toolkit provides the easiest software for rooting within few inputs. If you are buying nexus it is nearly certain that you will root it for knowing exactly what your device is capable of.

Moto G IMHO. The Nexus devices are great, but they are extremely fragile, unless you baby your phone it's a huge deal breaker.
