1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:
Office work, MS Office
Photoshop & other image editing
Browsing, downloading from torrents
Watching HD movies & hearing songs
My PC should be ON for 18 hours a day & some times continuously ON for 2 days

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 15k fixed

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: no

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: Win 7

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: already have 500 GB sata HDD

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: already have 19" Viewsonic 19wb wide screen (1400*900 resolution)

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans:
SMPS (Corsair CX430 V2) (newly purchased)
Zebronics cabinet
500 GB SATA Seagate HDD (new)
19" Viewsonic 19wb wide screen monitor (1440*900 resolution) (4.5 years old)

Ans: May 2012

Ans: need assembler

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: bangalore. can buy in online if cheaper. but need an assembler

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: My PC should be future proof for 4 years only

Component Make Price
CPU Pentium G620 3340
Motherboard Intel DH67CL 5640
RAM G.Skill Value 4GB 1150
Case NZXT Source 210 Elite 2400
UPS Numeric 600VA 1800
Total 14330

The board doesn't have an internal USB 3.0 header, but the case has front USB 3.0, so if you plan to get a better board later it'll be useful. Or else get a generic case to save some bucks and get a low cost GPU.

^^You're asking too much for this budget buddy. Can't you compromise with the USB 3.0 back port? Or else increase your budget.

You have to increase your budget to atleast 20K to 25K . Then we can suggest a good build.

The go for a generic case and add AMD Radeon HD 5450. It's enough for HD content playback.

Check the number of SATA ports in DH67VR and you'll know why its so cheap.

MSI H67MA-E35 is a great VFM board for that price (Rs.4664). But its out of stock in Flipkart.

^^For an HTPC its fine. Don't expect any performance in gaming.

I don't know why people buy HD 5450 with Intel Sandybridge processors. All they can do with it is to play HD movies but that can be easily handled by HD 2000 IGP of G620. Now, with HD 5450, game playing experience: in a single word: NULL.

Better save money and get a decent card after 1/2 months like HD 5670 GDDR5.
