My mobo bursted

Hi,

Today i tried testing a SSD and the moment i put it the CPU my motherboard bursted.
Can you tell me why this happened?

please tell your whole pc details.which mobo ? which cpu....

Please elaborate the situation mentioning the complete config. "Bursted" is a little over-reaction

Jokes aside, i suspect you got a blown capacitor.. Pics would be so welcome for further analysis.

was the mobo connected to live psu when you placed cpu?? or maybe you heard some static and thought it was "burst"
