My top 5 8-bit video games

P

From spending my entire childhood searching mario’s princess to winning over the boss in karateka I have played tons of 8bit games. However I thought of listing the top 5 greatest of all time you too can share your Top 5 favourite list of 8-bit games. Here are mine:
1. Mario – This I guess might be top of most peoples list as Mario was an epic 8bit game. Tell me whomsoever completed this game?
2. Goal 3 – One of the most interesting soccer game with power blast kicks based on countrywise teams
3. Karateka – This was one real good martial art 8-bit game way back in the day. The Tata Sky version Kombat fighter is a throwback to Karateka to me.
4. Road fighter – With skills to maneuver small lanes I enjoyed Road fighter as the top car game
5. Street Fighter – I have always been a versus game fan and street fighter tops my list in versus game.
Do post and share your top 5 list of favourite 8-bit games.

Contra - first video game I ever played.

contra, mario, jurassic park and Alien(both had terrific atmosphere), mappy, etc..

mappy

Underrated game. Terrific music.

There was a really good action side scroller, with three playable characters, a huge macho guy, a smaller one in blue costume, and the third one was in white. The player has to fight across the street and save some chick at the end of the game...anyone remember the name?

Contra, Mario, Road Fighter, Duck Shooting

Contra, Mario, Dave.

Kung Fu Mario(yup it existed and was freakin awesome

)
Contra 3/Force
Cuba
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles(arcade fighting game, shredder epic :3 )
Dragon Fighter

Many Many More...... but as op told to restrict it to 5 so here it is

although i can't really say that they are my all time top 5 !

Mario,Spartan,Contra,Road Fighter,Galaxian...any many more

Final Fight? nope. The one I was talking about was very fast paced, kinda like a DMC beat em up style.

EDIT - Alrite I've found it!! Its Mighty Final Fight on NES

And heres the gameplay video with guy, my favorite character in the game

Contra, Super C, Mario 1, Kung Fu, Circus.

I spent so much SO MUCH TIME in Contra.

Sadly cant recall other games I played in my old video game(only rememering Mario now)

Contra co-op with cousins was real fun

Contra, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3, Super Mario, Karateka, Megaman Series....

Contra and TNMT 3 were one of the best multiplayers the platform ever produced, I think... Oh man, those days... I was a kid, used to hunt other kids in colony to play multiplayer...

We used to purchase those 999999 in 1 cartridges in hope of endless fun... only to find out that it has 10 games, but in multiple variations.... And then we grew up and moved to 3D on PC's & better consoles.

I have spent countless hours on the net trying to search a rom of this game. I only remember it by a faint memory of 9 years old me playing it on my knockout chinamade nes console for hours, laughing madly till my cheeks hurt. I just could not remember the name, probably because the cartridges then didn't use real game names. Anyhow, I played it now just as I read your post and I cannot thank you enough for bringing back to me my beautiful childhood memories.

Thank You.

Double dragon
