No... Make sure it is Blutooth 2.0 wish supports 3 MBPS... and if you are one windows user make sure it iether supports Vista default Bluetooth adopter driver...

or it should bags it own full version Vista drivers...

do note, that, PC Suite or such softwares wont support many driver providers for the bluetooth adopter...

ex, bluesoleil.com drivers are not supported by Nokia PC Suite :(

I am thinking of one with these features:
ORCHID BLUETOOTH DONGLE
# Specifications : Bluetooth V2.0 and EDR
# Bluetooth class 1 : 500 meters (in open space)
# Carrier frequency : 2.4 to 2.483GHz
# Data rate : up to 3Mbps
# Frequency hopping spread spectrum
# GFSK (1Mbps), D/4-DOPSK (2Mbps), 8DPSK (3Mbps)
# USB version 2.0, DV 5V (USB power)
# Sensitivity : 82dBm (typical), GFSK
# RF output power : 20dBm (typical), GFSK
# Supports Windows XP, 2000, ME and 98SE
# LED indicators.

This in Rs.250 bucks (Indiatimes Shopping) + 50bucks for courier charges making a total of Rs.300 bucks.
I just need it for connecting cell phone to access net on pc and file transfers. Is this fine or i shd go out and buy from local stores. What you ppl say? Pl reply asap.

bluesoleil fully supports Nokia PC Suite provided you are using updated version of both.

hey hey hey
i got myself a dongle for 200bucks, yes it is bluetooth 2.0
vendor said it supports vista but it is not written on the packaging. moreover it gets detected in WIN XP automatically...no need of installing its own drivers

@enticer86
I have already done that.. I want to know if there is a way by which i can authorize connection for my PC cuz i need to select "Receive a file" every time i need to receive a file on comp. moreover multiple files cant be send, only one file at a time.

Pair it one time & set on phone tick the option 'set as authorized'.Now the connection will take place without any prompts. This is for nokia phones only.

Yep use the drivers and pair it with a key and tick "Accept connection requests automatically."

why you all guys not getting it? I have already set the pairing as authorize on cell. If i am sending a file from PC to cell, it doesn't prompt for accepting the file. ok.
the same i want to do with PC so that when i send file from my cell, it gets accepted automatically, unlike manually selecting "Receive a file" I hope m clear now...
