Need For Speed Series To Be Discontinued

EA Guys will be termed as big losers if they really discontinue this .... I agree failures have taken a huge toll on the company but , the solution doesn't lie in the fact that they should hide their face from defeats .

I dont like NFS-UNDERCOVER cause its has much DRM issues .

I think it's better for EA. NFS no longer stands anywhere near GRiD.

At least it rolled out several classics while it could last. Most Wanted is hard to forget.

It's about time. NFS Carbon, Pro Street and Undercover have brought this once-great series to a new low. It's better that EA stops milking the 'Need For Speed' name and tarnishing the series' reputation.

Yes. It's good for them to leave it to Sony and Codemasters. GRID, DIRT have established a new leader in racing genre. And don't forget that codemasters now have license to make F1 games from 2009.

Yeah, last three NFSz brought down the glory, Undercover was such a disappointmet. Look at other games present at the time, they offer superb package. But somewhr NFS series lost everything, its all the same, conquer something, either all at once or part by part..

woh really guys when i was shocked but reading ur replies i think i better watch out for other games too like flatout grid and pure hven't tried them yet

Some of u r talkin bad abt undercover. Is it that bad? I've not yet played it. Those who have played it, can u please post some sort of review?

well i had written a review of NFS UC (undercover) in the PSP review section.. but tat was the PSP version..

It's for the good of EA.
But I will be missing NFS

Good news indeed. The last 3 NFS releases sucked big time. DiRT and Burnout is where the action is at.

The only notable releases in the EA franchise were High Stakes, Porsche 2000 & Underground.

it's good decession by EA to discontiue it's NFS series.

The reasons for this I think is more amount of expectations and compition in every platform

if they release it in pc they will compare it with GRID, DiRT

if they release in ps3 they will compare with gran turismo, burnout

if they release in 360 it will be compared with FORZA, PGR series

And with that said, EA Cannada can only make games beating all above only in dreams.

What they have given to the racing world, thru NFS is enough.

Time to take the back seat.

I hope now they pull the plug on the FIFA series too. At least the PC version.

NFSII, Hot Persuit, Porsche Unleashed, Underground, Most Wanted.
My favorites. Played right through all of them. They were challenging, and difficult.
Undercover is friggin easy. Pro-Street was bad, Undercover is worse.
It would make sense for them to stop, but I wish they would go out and give us ONE more good game before they do it.
And I don't think is true. They have already started developing for a late 2009 release according to what I know. The production had definately started, but they may have decided to stop in their tracks after they saw the loss that Undercover was.

I agree. If they stop making it for the PC, then Konami can get licenses to all the leagues. That way, we'll have one helluva soccer game.
And BTW, it's been said that they will stop making FIFA for PC due to all the piracy and stuff. FIFA 09 had copy protection, but we all know how that failed :wink:

Nice. Most Wanted was really a great game but afterwards, the series just stumbled down the glory ladder. Its actually good to hear this.

I think this will be a move for the better; with NFS gone, atleast we can hope for EA to pool their resources to bring up a better game.

NFS Most Wanted was the only game which made me feel like I am being continuously pursued......it was just rocking......

If they come up with a new concept or a story line I'm sure they will revamp and bring back NFS again. As for now they are all tapped out.

Believe me ..EA are not discontinuing NFS series..there will be at least another one and I am more than 100% sure

Most Wanted was great....remember all those 20+ police cars chasing you, constant fear of spikes and heartbeat throttling SUVs from front....no matter what, i dont think they can remake it

good....each new NFS just gets boring and boring.

Most wanted was the best. i had completed 99% .graphics physix story everything was great.
I havent played carbon yet.
Pro street was not that worse like people say.it was diff type of game even now i play it.
BUT UNDER WEAR
was horrible!!
Graphix sucks.world looks like GTA.
Physix sucks big time
even in gta we can drive much better(tho its not a racing game) world effects also bad (at max we r in heaven)
totally its underwear!!
Graphics and gameplay r better in pro street.(pro street cars rocks)

Prostreet was the worst game of NFS Series...

I dont think they gonna discontinue the series rather they woulda got a lesson to move from street racing to something broader...Hoping for better game this Fall...

After their experiments with ProStreet blew on their face they decided to go back to their roots that is street racing with UC ..... I dont think they have anywhere to go from here now ....

Its not a bad idea at all, to scrap it .... There are so many other racing titles coming up to satisfy gamers [both pc and consoles]

undercover aint that bad, it just looks like NFS most wanted with a new makeup on its face.....the worst for me was Pro Street.....i hardly played 2 or 3 races only then ditched it.....the best NFS games for me were NFS 3 and Most wanted.
