Hi,

I would like to buy a Sound Card with Optical or Digital Out options.

It is supposed to be PCI based not PCIe and also good value for money.

I would be connecting it to my Home theater System for watching HD movies with mostly DTS audio tracks.

Please Help
Thanks in Advance

Actually dOm1naTOr I did find one but it costs around 2K

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Value with S/PDIF out as the option.

So anybody has this card. Please comment on it.

it seems a good deal. Though the sound blaster audigy isnt gr8 at sound quality, there wont be any degradation in performance by using a digital out and decoding in the home theater system.
which system do you have?

there are lots of mobos with onboard optical/co axial outs. That wud ve saved u 2k and a PCI slot.

dOm1naTOr are you asking about my home theater system or my PC.

The Home Theater System is SONY DAV DZ-570

and

My PC is an Intel Pentium 4 with D865GBF Mobo Ati HD3650 AGP DDR2 512MB Graphics and SoundMAX Digital Audio with 6 channel support.

Anyway I dont need this got S/PDIF out working as passthrough using my Onboard sound card.

And BTW I reeeeeealy wanted to say Creative is a sh*t, and it also sucks big time.

I does not support linux or Mac.

Stupid Idiots aren't they.:x
