I switched to Bridge mode from Router Mode in my ADSL modem.Configured network connections in Windows 8. Put username and password too but when i try to connect from there my PC restarts and shows problem in PC window is collecting information. What can be the problem, i am now on router mode.
i think you meant pppoe mode(there is no router mode).anyway mention the modem model,connection interface(lan/usb),windows 8 details like drivers etc updated,antivirus installed etc.
just to be on safe side are you using some good regularly updated antivirus(not like quickheal or norton 2013 which hasn't been updated for weeks).also describe the steps you took when configuring win 8 network connections.

use "setup a new connection" in network & sharing center in control panel.
