This article may be of help to you
*www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/setup/adhoc.mspx

I do not know whether it is gonna be different for Windows Vista but the basics may remain the same, and the link *windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/bfd3bd31-82f0-4b9c-9cde-fb92bc2b14771033.mspx Good luck.

 An ad-hoc wireless network will do for the present. You may think of a Wireless router later when you have many computers. And perhaps by that time Wireless N router prices would have come down.Keep going with the ad-hoc for now. No expenses.
