Guys

having Redmi Note4 , absolutely loved the performance so far , planning to give to my cousin and buy a new one.

My expectations are simple , new phone should be better than the curent one , especially on the camera part.

Max Budget: 18-20k
Preferable brand - Nothing specific , should have good service

Thanks in advance

One quick doubt , i can see redmi launched Note 6 pro at the same price as Note 5 pro , what exactly is the difference between these 2 models..? why it is at same price..?

NO improvements in 18-20k segment, spend over 25k and get a camera with OIS.

I'm not sure which phone you have. Redmi Note 4 Pro was never released in India. Redmi Note 5 Pro was & if you have that, then better use it for at least another year. Even RN6 Pro has just a small bump in camera. You can upgrade to Poco F1 to observe some noticeable difference though but still better to wait it out as your current phone is good.

If you have Redmi Note 4, then RN6 Pro is a decent upgrade (for a good value). Poco F1 at 21k is a big upgrade over it for sure. I would highly recommend waiting for a month or two & to increase your budget to 25k. It is very likely that Nokia 8.1 will be released at 25k & it will a good camera along with OIS.

Not worth the headache.
Umm , so what are the options left for me...? looking mainly an upgrade in camera from Note 4 and good battery.

Honor 8X is a good choice at 15k. As you own RN4, Honor 8X is definitely an upgrade. RN6 Pro has a better camera & bit better battery life whereas 8X has a larger screen for similar footprint, better chipset, dedicated SD card slot (vs hybrid slot in RN6P) & lesser ads in UI.

Honor Play is good at 20k but with Poco F1 at 21k with a better chipset, camera & bit better battery life, Honor Play is harder to recommend even though it has a better build.
Apparently, Honor Play is on sale for 17k for now. Get it now if you are interested. It does have a good camera for the price (Mi A2 will be better though). Mi A2 has inferior battery life & lacks headphone jack, so not a great phone overall.

As I said earlier, Poco F1 is definitely a big upgrade over RN4. Its 21k model with 6GB RAM 64GB storage is enough for most people. It has the best camera for that price range, with Asus 5Z at 25k being the only one which is better (unless some flagship gets a price cut, like LG G6).

If you want something now, Poco F1 is good, but its build isn't great, MIUI might start showing ads everywhere & Nokia 8.1 is just around the corner (probably will launch around Dec 10). It will be a great choice at 25k.

Nokia 7.1 Plus (Nokia X7) - Full phone specifications (This is the Nokia 8.1 or maybe it will be named 7.1 plus)

Nokia 7.1 plus naming scheme is retarded af
Its called 7.1 plus in some places, X7 somewhere else, now 8.1 appearing in websites.

ASUS 5Z would be a great choice if you can stretch your budget higher. (I was seriously considering buying that before getting XZ1 in the last online sale.)

Redmi Note 6 Pro @ 15.5k or Honor 8X @ 15k
Both are good but I prefer Honor phones.

Except for the build, it is good. If you are into custom ROMs & stuff, it does have a decent dev support. Do try out Gcam for it, results seem good compared to the stock camera app.

Maybe ask Flipkart. In the US, I think Newegg refunds the difference if prices goes lower within a week or two. Flipkart had it in initial days.

Return it and get refund and re-order it. Orr go honor 8x if you are a photographer. I own a honor 7x and I haven't seen such features in any other phone of that budget.
