I connect my headphone to monitor. Monitor is connected to NVDIA graphics card (GTX 750 TI) via HDMI cable.

It works fine, last day i connected earphone that comes with my android phone, sound works fine, but the mic is not working (my old headphone have no mic), i am not sure NVDIA HDMI connection support both mic and headphone or it is sound output only.

Any one know if microphone work with NVDIA HDMI connection ?

AFAIK you can NOT send analog input via HDMI.

So it is my monitor converting this digital audio to analog ? In my monitor BenQ V2410, there is a headphone jack, on which i can connect a headphone, i used one with out microphone and it worked, i was testing to see if i can use a headphone with MIC. Since HDMI is only digital, it may not possible, anyway i will check the monitor manual and see how this works.
