Budget - $30- 40 (those headphones should be priced ₹3-3.5k in India)

Requirements for Isolation - Some or none (my home is quiet)

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? - No

Preferred Type of Headphone - On ear or over the ear

Preferred tonal balance - Bass

Past headphones - Sony XB450, currently using Brainwavz Omega

I would be using it for listening to music, watching movies/TV shows & gaming on my laptop. R6 Siege is my only multiplayer game which I play kind of regularly otherwise, I mostly play SP games. How good is Logitech G430 for music? I have an impression that gaming headsets aren't that good for music but provide good positional audio.

Another headphone I'm looking at is Sony XB550AP.

I've heard the m20x. Frankly I'd say stay away. Not very good sound.

The reason you said that is because its bass isn't very good as compared to others (some reviews say this). I have personally listened to an Audio Technica headphone in past(don't remember its model) & it too had a weak bass, but otherwise, it was good.

It wasn't just the bass. I don't know how to describe properly. But there was too much sibilance. Not good sound character.

It has good reviews on Amazon as well as in other websites/forums except for its build

I already got the Monoprice ones. The stock pads are ok for me, so not planning to get the earpads now, maybe after few months. Many websites & few reddit threads recommended Monoprice for under $50 (with pads), don't know why no one mentioned the Superlux.

I have the SR850, its a clone of the superlux (or vice versa), and its sound quality is top notch, only problem is the clamping force which was way way high. Would not recommend you buy that, hope your monoprice headphone is comfortable.

My previous headphone was an on the ear type, so it is more comfortable than that.
