Hello friends, kindly help me to build my pc within Rs. 30000. i have shortlisted some components while researching on internet. if you all think those are not good then please tell me that. but i am open to all of your suggestions. i am more keen on buying AMD based one and the scope for up-gradation should be present. but if you think Intel will be best then i can go for that too.

my shortlisted ones -

Processor: AMD FX4100 Processor
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 4GB DDR3-1600 / G.Skill RipjawsX 4GB DDR3-1600
Hard Disk Drive: WD Caviar Blue 500 GB HDD
Power Supply Unit: Corsair CX430

1. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans:
Frankly speaking, playing games (fifa 2013, max payne 3, mafia II, cod black ops II and all the other new games), watching 720p/1080p movies, working on softwares like matlab, autocad and other engineering softwares and surfing internet.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 30000 is my budget, i can extend a bit though
for a more balanced configuration.

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: not really.

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: windows seven (windows 8 looks good too, so can't say right now about that).

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 500 GB

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yes, 18"-20", led, full hd preferable.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: mouse, keyboard.

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: within 2 weeks.

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: it will be done by assembler.

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: i live in Calcutta and am going to buy the components from Chandni Chowk. I check out Flipkart for prices though, but not really keen on buying from there.

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: i know its a bit tough to accommodate in this little budget, but i hope its not impossible :) thanks to all of you in advance

Thanks in Advance :) :) :)

^^Change the processor to phenomII x4 960t.Rest everything is fine.
960t is hard to be found.

If you don't find the 960t then go for i3 2100+intel dh67cl.
Fx4100 is simply not good enough against the likes of i3 2100 or phenomII x4 960t.

memory really doesnt effect gaming very much (except in apus)
going for a better gfx card now and a low end processor isnt supper future proof but it is very good for now
also there isnt much difference in the gaming performance of an i3 and a pentium
havoknation
Aug 27, 2012 at 4:46 PM
If gaming is the mail mission then go for G620 or I3 2100 rig and put up radeon 7770/ GTX550ti atleast.

There are some games which are coded in a way to take advantages of more threads.Examples of such games are GTA IV and Max Payne3.
In such scenarios Pentium G620 will be at disadvantage.
960t is hard to be found. Also Pentium G620 is noticeably slower in other tasks than i3 2100.In applications like autocad a faster cpu is better.

^^get gddr5.Locally 6670gddr5 is between 5k-5.5k.
For 6k this is a good optionMSI R6770

5670gddr5 is around 4k.

@ vkl no the hd 5670 is 5k
if you have a choice between hd 5670 gddr5 and hd 6670 ddr3 always go for the hd 5670
or if hd 6670 gddr5 is available then that is the best

should i go for GIGABYTE 880GM USB3 instead of GIGABYTE GA 970A UD3 to save some bucks? will the performances lack in many times?
P

Aug 30, 2012 at 5:09 PM
GIGABYTE 880GM USB3 is a am3 socket mobo
fx series cpus will not work on that

@sumanta4u
When you are not overclocking there is no difference on the performance of processor whichever motherboard you chose.
For better performance opt for i3 2100.

GA-880GM-USB3 (rev. 3.1) is a socket am3+ compatible motherboard.
GA-880GM-USB3 (rev. 1.x) is only a socket am3 motherboard.

This time budget gets lower a bit, now will have to round it within 30k. selected core i3 2120 as processor and zotac geforce gt630 synergy edition 2gb instead of Sapphire Radeon HD6670 to save some bucks, will it be good?? kindly help me. thanks in advance :)

selected these ones -

CPU - Core i3 2120 - price?
Motherboard - suggest
RAM - 4gb - suggest
Graphics Card - suggest

Intel Pentium G 645 - Rs 3350
Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H - Rs 4300
Corsair Value Ram 4 GB - Rs 1100
GPU - PowerColor HD 7750/Gigabyte GTX 550ti- Rs 6600 / 7100
HDD - WD Caviar Blue 500GB - Rs 3400
SMPS - CORSAIR SMPS-CX430V2 - Rs 2450
Cabinet -Any Generic large cabinet ( Iball Foxin Zebronics) - Rs 850
OPD - Samsung SH-S 223F - Rs 975
Display - BENQ G2222HDAL Full HD LED Monitor - Rs 7600

Total - Rs 30,625/-
You dont need a i3 2120 at this budget and scope of things. A super processor and a bad GPU is bad for gaming. G645 is good enough for gaming and more but if you can afford to spend Rs 3300 more get the i3 2120 or stick with the G645 based rig.Dont compromise on GPU in this case, budget and resolution.
