PC won't start

Hi, I have a Dell Dimension E520 pc. Now, the pc won't start. when I click the start button on the cpu, nothing happens. but sometimes if I'm lucky, the pc starts. there is also an Orange light in the motherboard which is always on, even though the pc doesn't start. please help guys.

Held it for a minute. No use

Does it produce any beep? If yes, what pattern does it produce?

There are no beeps. Nothing happens when I press the button.

Try resetting all cables. Does the restart switch work? It could be a faulty switch.

I also think that this is related to faulty switch!! Recheck the connection and display too.... Is your HDD light is also on always or just the motherboard light??

There is no restart button. The hdd light doesnt light up, only mb light is on.

Then check your connections to the HDD device

But if the pc doesnt start, how will the hdd light glow?

try with a different PSU / Power socket / Chnage the PSU's power cable.

You tried with a different PSU? The orange light on the motherboard indicated that PSU is delivering power to the system.

I gave it for repair. He said there's a problem with the motherboard.
