My dad likes taking photos with his phone, so a best possible camera(Mi4i ??) within the budget is appreciated. He also wants the phone to have good display, better than display of my Nexus 4(S4 & Mi4i maybe).

I personally doubt about zenfone's camera, so thinking aganist it

Yeah they both are good too.... Oneplus one is better option but still he has now asked me to just consider dual sim devices

Windows phone is so awesome but still so many people keep using CrapDroid. :-D

He is using android & likes it....... Moreover i didn't like WP & it has few shortcomings, except for the ones you know, here are few other points to be considered:
- I won't be able to troubleshoot if anything happens to the phone
- Internet is very bad in the region where my home is.... You can browse internet but sometimes downloads won't complete(its complicated)

He is okay with 13k Xiaomi Mi4i, but since it has just 16GB, he is checking other options....

Mi4i was certainly a good option for me too, 16GB was the thing holding me back..

mi4i is a valid option besides you can also go for yureka since requirements are not a lot from the phone.

Yureka is good but i doubt the quality of screen (colour reproduction, contrast n all)...... So Mi 4i is better...... Samsung Galaxy E7 is also under consideration....

If my dad rules out the need of a dual sim phone, it would be better (he currently uses just 1 sim).... I'm thinking of Note 3 Pro then if that happens (He won't buy oneplus one or Xiaomi Mi4)

Just get aside from Samsung if he's into mid tier.
Only S6,S6 Edge are worth.

Better get OPO or Moto X2 is also a good option.

Budget is something......... He won't spend 24k for a 16GB storage phone...... Seriously specs aren't everything

Opo is better.

That's not true .. I have an s4 i 9505 and its still a cool phone using since past 2 years after lollipop update things have changed..works marvelous. But hey I wouldn't recommend myself coz Sammy might stop updates for my phone not sure if it will taste android m..updates are also an important factor. miui is custom ROM so yeah u can consider mi4i they will update in future too.build quality hmmm we are talking about mid range phones so you shouldn't have big expectations.

I think Mi4i has great build quality for it's price.... Anyways my dad became a bit busy, I'll have a talk with him this weekend.... Let's see what he likes....

UPDATE : My dad says it would be better to have a 5.5" rather than 5" screen. Mi4i is out due to that & just 16GB storage. He needs a phone better than S2 in everyway possible.

Only concern - I saw a video review recently, I guess GeekyRanjit's video where he mentioned about a sub-par GPS performance, and the compass app not working properly due to faulty magnetometer.

Also +1 to lumia 640 XL.

You can go for HTC Desire 816G Octa Core. It's have all the features that you need in your budget. My friend has bought this phone online from Electronicsbazaar.com. The mobile was delivered in a good condition and short time of period. It cost 16,800 and your budget is 20 k, so you must be saving a good amount.

I'm planning to get Honor 4X for my dad...... It fits all the requirements ..... Still open to other options...

It doesn't have good battery life + just 1GB RAM

How about desire 820 if 720p resolution for 5.5" screen can be ignored?

I don't think he needs S615 + spending 23k on 820 isn't justified, when I can get bit inferior camera, display phone with adequate performance & better battery life than 820 @ 10k

Must say that you have a nice choice. But brands also matter as compare to Huawei, htc is better.

No doubt about that...... Since Port Blair has official service centre of just Micromax, so buying any reliable brand phone is same..... If anything happens to the phone, we have to send it to Chennai or give it to some local repair guys, which I personally don't trust as nowadays mobiles are becoming tougher to repair due to non-removable parts....

I even suggested my dad LG G3 Dual at 25k from eBy, instead of HTC 820, which he liked but then thought why spend 15k extra when a 10k phone satisfies his needs....

Though there r many options I would still suggest you to go for moto g or xiaomi note ( Amy variant ) since both gives value for money and I believe I can either get it shipped to your place or to any of it relatives.

MIUI didn't feel laggy to me on Note 4G........ Anyways EMUI works great in my friend's Honor Holly, so 4X also shouldn't get laggy with time
