Hi
I am going to purchase a phone for my dad. The following are my requirements:-
*Budget : below 10k
*Camera :13MP not front cam)(or any good quality camera), with auto-focus and flash.
*OS: Anything

Another important thing is phone must be smooth to use. It should not get stuck while using because of low RAM or any other reasons. If screen is wide, then better.

Check these:
- Yureka (best possible specs for price, only con is below average battery life......maybe 5.5" would be humongous for you :p)
- Honor 4X (performance inferior to yureka but sufficient, better battery life but heavy, also 5.5")
- Honor 4C (5" display, sufficient perfromance)
- Xiaomi Mi4i (13k, 5" display, good specs, good display n camera but no sd card slot n heating issues while playing games for long time)

anupam_pb Out of the four phones you suggested, I will go for either honor 4C or yu yureka. Has anyone used honor 4C? How is it's battery life. Does it easily gets heated up? (My mom has Spice androidone phone, it gets heated up easily that's why....)Is it better than yu yureka? I was thinking to buy yureka but it's battery worries me. Also does honor 4C supports USB OTG?

Check flipkart for reviews........ All phones heat up while charging, gaming, browsing internet using 3G/4G, doing anything that puts stress on cpu or gpu

Hey guys,
Please help me.... Is honor 4C better OR yu yureka???... Whose battery lasts longer... ? Whose camera is better? After reading yu yureka reviews... It seems cyanogen OS has lot bugs... Is 1.2 Ghz octacore + 2GB RAM sufficient for good smooth user experience.. I read in some website that HiSilicon Kirin 620 is better than snapdragon 615. Is it true?

Guys, I am stuck with yu yureka and honor 4C... Which one is best to buy...

Let me share the bad experience of my dad's previous android phone (samsung gt-s5302)
The phone :
*Had bad user experience (when tried to open a app, it would take almost 5seconds)
*When dialed a call, it would connect after a long time... So dad would think call wasn't made.. Hence would press call button again and again.... So the call would be made multiple times even after disconnecting call and money would then be wasted unnecessarily
*Camera quality was poor

I want to make sure the phone which I would buy must not have any such problem.... So help me

Yureka is better than any samdung phone you can get under 15k. Crapwiz is one the reasons their overpriced low end phones lag too much.

OK all... A lot many of you recommended Lumia.. Lumia 640 has 1.2 ghz quad core and 1GB RAM.. Will that hamper the user experience.. I mean will the phone be slow to use? ..,(since ram is less). I believe you guys for the phone's camera quality, but speed and good user experience is also important to me.. OS is no issue

I am currently using lumia 640 after returning moto g2 and Zenfone 2. Windows phone os is not resource hungry like android os. So, 1GB of wp= 2Gb of android os.
Believe me WP phone is great but only problem is limited app but all imported app are there

mastersquall just any mobile(whether Windows or Android) won't do for my dad. The primary use of phone for him is camera because he loves photography... I am waiting for someone to post some pics taken from Lumia 640. . If any phone takes better photos than Lumia, then I would prefer that..

Also another doubt guys... Lumia 640 has 8MP but honor 4C and yu yureka has 13MP cam(price of all three remaining same). So isn't pics taken from latter two phones better than Lumia?

Higher Megapixel doesn't mean better quality it is generally used to denote maximum size of photo that can be taken with camera.
What is a megapixel? - Digicamhelp

Lumia has good camera mobile also. Main reason I said is that they lagless compare to android . did you checked gsarena review check its camera quality there or video review.
Now about MP . it doesn't define quality of pic my 2MP camera still takes much better pic then my mobile .

Hello Volstagg, I got the Lumia 540. The phone would meet all your criteria. Smooth performance, great image quality, and battery backup. Check out the images. The first 1 is taken from the 10th floor, the second one is in inside the room with the windows being closed and flash is on, the third one is a low light one with flash off, and the last one is taken from the front cam. 1st.jpg 2nd.jpg3rd.jpg4th.jpg

numbers are just numbers
real world performance is what matters

Lumias are known to take better photos than their android counterparts especially if its a Zeiss or Pureview variant
640 certainly takes much better photos

since the phone is for your dad,I suggest getting a Lumia
Lumias are very very stable and smooth, take good photos, easy to use UI,great cameras and After sales services too
its a no-hassles choice imho

in Lumias its 730,640XL>640>535>540 in terms of camera performance

If you want best quality photos and videos, better use DSLRs. Remember that a camera of Rs 10,000 will give you better quality that smartphones worth Rs 50,000.

If you don't mind Android KitKat, get the Panasonic Eluga Z. Otherwise an average phone, the Samsung ISOCELL sensors for both the front and back cameras make it an excellent contender.
