Planning On Buying A New Phone...Help

Hi guys

im planning on buying a new phone
here's all the features i need:

1.good music capability
2.good camera(at least equivalent to a k750i)
3.and ill be buying a laptop soon, so i'd need something to use as a modem, so i guess edge is essential???(p.s. -- what are the speeds in airtel like?)

ill spend around 15k
but will stretch it if required
any input will be appreciated

Go for Nokia N70. Or if you can stretch your budget to 17k, go for SE K790i.
In Airtel with EDGE, you get a download speed of around 20 kBps. Dunno about browsing speed though.

N70... If u conn thru data cable u ll get a max browsing 7peed of 384kbps

wat abt W810i @14k settle all needs and spare 1k too!

U may go for Nokia 6270 or 6233 (its 3G enabled).
If u want s60 den go for Nokia 5500 or 3250.N70 is good but it still runs Os 8.1.I dont think u'll like to go 4 a fone which runs a back dated OS.

^^ Yes, SE W810i is also a good option.

w810i is a good option. so is n5500. its upto personal choice now.

I would suggest Nokia 3250 Xpress Music.

Music is great, but the camera is not as good a k750i because of a lack of flash.
But it sports the S60v3 OS which supports 3rd Applications and you can also use it as a modem.

W710i is also good, and it supports mp4/aac ringtones, too.

Otherwise, W710i and W810i share the same feature set.

N70 highly recommended. U can go 4 N72 n save some 1000bucks. Both of dem r gr8 n full of features

n72 doesnt hav 3G dude... if u take a fone now it has to be future proof...
n the gprs speeds r substantially greater in edge/3g fones than normal gprs fones...

W810i have Edge (NO 3G- not planned for India till 2008 end and also the facility need Big Hole to Pocket when availabel in India)

N70 (as per review and users comments) can not come near to SE when there is Race for Sound/Music and Camera.

sony ericsson W810i...brand name is itself Guaranty...

so now ive to choose between k610i , w810i and w850i...
dont like the use of orange on w810i...

what are the maximum memory card sizes supported by these phones, without being sluggish, that is...

also, anyone know where to get 2.5mm jack earphones from?

My friend got a black body cover in the box when he bought W550i. Check it they even supply it with W810i.

^^ @alsiladka, he's not talking about the entire cover, but rather the orange nuances on the phone (the walkman key, walkman logo, etc. are in orange on W810i). W810i is available in black only. (Well there is a white coloured version shown on website, but i don't think its available here)

Sorry guys havent been getting regular internet access

went to my local mobile dealer (switch)
after a lot of deliberation
he convinced me that k750i was the better option
no noticible difference in sound or camera
exchanged its earphones for a pair of hpm-70
bought a 2 gb memory stick
shaved 4000 off the total by handing in my old ngage qd
so it all cost me 7700 bucks
not a bad deal i'd say

I don't think that Dealer give you ORIGINAL hpm-70 in exchange of 750i's earphones. As hpm-70 cost more than k750i's headphone!

If it is Original than its Great Buy! Enjoy it and post your experience with it.

no, its not sony them. maybe from some other company but compatible or mebbe even duplicate. the original sony mem sticks cost a bomb and come wid warranty certificate.

I suspect about headset as for K750i's headset (Original but less value comapre to hpm70) delaer offer him hpm-70 (costlier than 750i's headst-must be fake). If not great deal for him

mebbe...mebbe not... yeah if not... then lucky guy! few of my k750i user frenz got hpm70.... but none for free.. price varied from 1.7k to 1.2k till date..

Memory stick duo for K750i is also manufactured by Sandisk, which is cheaper then Sony solution

HPM-70 here costs Rs 1,350. I bought one 4 days ago

yes but even 2G sandisk is not as cheap as 1500!
