Hi guys,
as the title suggests
Please suggest a VFM 500GB or 1TB portable external HDD
Looking to spend less than 3.5k-4k:smile:

Looking for suggestions in Seagate, WD and maybe Buffalo (preference in that order)

Seagate GoFlex 1TB.

In case you want USB 3, go for WD My Passport 1TB @ 5k.

Hi Krow
how much should the goflex 1tb cost?

last time I checked, it was around 4.5k (a month ago). should be less than that now.

PS: be extra careful if you are going for 2.5" 1TB drive.

Yeah should be around 4-4.5k. My WD 1TB My Passport 2.5" is fine. Touch wood.

Got it for 5.1k from PrimeABGB in Mumbai.

Do run a full scan using HD Tune once you get the drive though. :)

Please elaborate the above
Does 1TB 2.5" HDDs have high failure rates? should i go for 500gb then?

@funnysourav Given it's size, it's easy to accidentally drop this HDD and give the size of data, you need to be extra careful.

^^i thought that the goflex portable ones are better built to withstand minor shocks/drops?
anyway my brother is a cautious and careful person, it should be safe in his hands :)
