Games are an integral part of any guys life (and academics ;-) ) Vote for the platform(s) of gaming that you prefer and enjoy. Lets see which is the most popular platform out here.

Is it the humble PC, the jack of all trades. Is it the console, like the popular PS2, PS3, Xbox series and Nintendo Wii (Cube ). Or is it just mobile gaming for you {pig slayer:)) a.k.a angry birds kinda games} (ipod, iphone, android, nokia, BB or PSP / Nintendo DS(+) or anything that fits in your pocket)

~Multiple choices can be made.

~If possible "post" the specific gaming device you are using like a mid-range PC or PS3 or an iphone etc.

This poll will be pointless in my opinion because pc will win. I play role playing games which are best played on pc so its my favourite platform.

all the 3 platforms are good...

PC: for FPS
Console: for Arcade games & sports
Mobile: for portable gaming on the go...

^I was quite aware of that but then no harm in seeing the trend out here. There are a few console lovers here too. Plus I am scared that mobile gaming will top the list.

1. PC: cause i hardly play games that require controller. game prices are fraction of what avl for console.

2. Console: those who play, love it. last played on a console @ 2001.

3. Mobile: motion sensor games are hard to master, onscreen control are not good for shooting, physics heavy games usually turn the game into a slideshow presentation, 2-3hrs of gaming downs battery to 50% or less.

Hmm...this bring me to the point that was stuck in my mind many years ago and now that dormancy has been lost. I want to ask.

PC's are incredibly powerful in comparison to consoles. So why is that the emulated console games run so poorly on a PC?

Is it because of the poor coding of the Emulator or restrictions in it?
Hardware(gulp) incompetence?
Or some other reason I can't even think about?

Mostly because of poor coding of emulators.

I had to choose PC , but I had to tick consoles as well. Console exclusives are totally in a different league.

Yes console exclusives are awesome but some PC exclusives are also damn good if you like RTS. :)

hardware emulation of consoles is somewhat hard coz their mission is to create an emulator that may run on lowest pc config.
So its due to poor coding.
But when we see some good emulators like PS2 emulator PCSX2 is very powerfull now , i can enjoy almost every popular ps2 game with even better graphics than the native has.

Now in case of modern console like Xbox360 , microsoft has api's , they can make a emulator easily and it'll run every game as better as any ported game does. I know they won't due to their profit but just an example to understand that console games can easily be emulated if one knows every bit about console he emulating.
So if a third party is making emulators , there'r bugs simply coz they didn't know suffice about structure . Thats why a emulator goes laggy.
If owner of console will make an emulator , that will surely lead to any third party emulator.

I play games mostly on pc.Don't have console, so can't comment on which is better. But one advantage on console is that every games runs same way and, gamer won't have to worry too much about fps thing. But games costs higher on console than pc.

mobile, so last millennium to have controls and screens on different things, updates are all quick and in the background, bug fixing is superfast, its democratic for the devs in the sense anyone can come in and has a decent chance at a good share... which keeps it competitive and the quality keeps getting pushed fast... publishing and distribution is superfast, theres new stuff every hour... and you never have to hunt down dependencies or drivers lol

Lol. Its not easy for you because you are not used with it. Same happens for me, when I try to play with a controller.
FPS will always be higher on PC. Its really meaningless to compare those two things actually. Games in Consoles are well optimized, that's why it seems very smooth.
I never understood how on earth one could play a FPS or any normal shooting game with that damn controller. Playing them with KB and Mice is very good experience, not kiddish at least.
Each on his own anyway. So arguing with every comment is pretty meaningless.
As I said, I'll continue to hate consoles, very badly, there are more than one reason behind that. I've many friends have XboX and PS3, when I ask them why you guys don't play on PC?
They answer, all of'em, are you mad? Only the GPU of yours will cost higher than my whole Console.
Jesus!
Those who love console please vote for it and state the reason if you want, but please don't start try to claim PC games are worser than Consoles.

Voted for PC and console. I started out as a console gamer, switched to the Master race (PC gaming) for sometime and now back to console again.

Yeah I hope no such debate creeps up here.

But if I may, I don't think the console or the PC overlap each other completely.

But there are a lot of games missing on the PC.

maximum titles exclusive for consoles are from Hack & Slash genre (which I love most) such NG,GOW (god of war) etc

PC games and console games are both getting casual and more casual day by day, the only place where the games are getting more hc day by day is the mobile platform

and hack n slash nothing beats Red Steel 2 on the Wii

PC is better in Gaming, I mean you can attach a controller to a PC and make it more flexible if you're used to Consoles, whereas same thing can't be done for Consoles.

The only plus point of Consoles are Kinect and Move and sometimes portability in handheld consoles.
