SD Tools <> is used to measure the speed of your external memory card. More info below.
Android. If the same app is available on other platforms then do notify me.

Description:
SD Tools - Info and Benchmark tools.
With SD Tools you can check your microSD card information (Name, Date, MID, OEMID,...). You can check if your card is fake. (Check serial number and MID and OEMID).
You can also benchmark sd card writing and reading speeds.

Post your results here with the following info:

  • Brand of memory card
  • Capacity
  • Rated speed/Class
  • SD tool result

Example:
Verbatim | 16GB | Class 10 | Read: 16.2; Write: 9.5

You can also post a screencap of the SD tool result which is given below in my results

This will help us see:
  • Performance of different brands of same/different class rating
  • If class of card matches with real world performance
  • Performance of Stock/Bundled memory card

Unbranded Bundled Sony Erricson Xperia ARC memory card | 8GB | Class 2 | Read: 16.8; Write: 4.8

^^ So, is it safe to assume that my card is class 6? I am planning to buy larger capacity card (maybe 8 or 16 GB) for my Optimus One, but not sure what class to buy. And I want to buy a card with class >= the current one.

@Sam: Did you get a class 4 card with the Optimus One? Which is giving you write speeds of about 5 MB/s. So is it safe to buy a Class 4 card of capacity 8/16 GB, for my O1 too? (I mean a class 4 or class 6 card will be more appropriate for my Android?)

Anyone please respond!

AFAIK it doesn't matters much. Though ask from Sarath, he had once created a thread for same query, and bought a class 10 card.
