problem connecting PSP to PC

when i connect my PSP to my PC via USB cable it shows
"USB device not recognized
one of the USB devices attached has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it."
and in device properties it shows that: No drivers are installed for this device.
please help

if u got sum other USB hw attached 2 d mobo @ dat time den i suggest dat u unplug it b4 pluggin in d PSP

not working i tried connecting it to another USB port but it still shows the same message in a new balloon it shows new USB device found

no wat i ment was do u have any other USB device attached to the computer other than the PSP?

if so den uplug all d other USB devices and den plu in ur PSP

nope tried removing all the devices
still not working

please somebody help
and can i remove scratches from my PSP screen
