Check the proxy settings by going to preferences

check your http proxy settings :-
-go to messenger menu
-select connection preference/ preference
-the tab will automatic select connection preference, if it doesn’t, select it manual.
-change your internet conection type, for my problem i choose broadband(DSL/Cable)

let me try friends..........

Just use Pidgin when Yahoo Messenger is giving you problems.

www.pidgin.im

Yahoo Messenger is buggy.

+1 to pidgin . it rocks !

Pidgin definately rocks!!!

but you could try Windows Live Messenger as well.
I think they are not joined or something..............
so you can add msn and yahoo contacts both

1. Pidgin (Cool)
2. Miranda IM (Faster and store chat logs in sqlLite DB)
3. DigaBY (Looks spamming i think, but check it if u want)
