Hi,

Since the last 4-5 months, I am facing a peculiar problem with my reliable Canon Powershot A540 digital camera which I bought in 2007. It is having a very short battery life, of say 10 shots. I put in brand new batteries or a fully charged battery and the result is same. I get a low battery warning when I put in new sets of batteries or a fully charged battery. Sometimes the camera does not switch on at all when I put in new batteries. It says I need to change the batteries. Sometimes I am able to take 10 shots with the low battery warning, sometimes I don't.

I searched for firmware updates on canon website but couldn't get any. Any suggestions are most welcome.

Regards.
