I have 7 computers all have win xp are connected to a hub and all of them are connected to the internet through this hub. We use this connection as a lan.6 computers are able to view each other but one comp is not able to connect to the lan though it is able to connect to the internet.
I tried changing the work group i.e same workgroup but of no use.
We have static ip addresses.
View workgroup computer shows only one computer i.e. itself.
Are none of the other 6 computers able to access the 7th computer? If so, it is possible that there is some configuration issues... Also, check if you have given common IP address with another computer... And check your firewall settings...

Run setup wizard again on 7th system..and temporarly disable firewall.

I use kis 2009 and I disabled both the kis firewall and windows firewall and ran the setup wizard but no use
From a working system, ping the IP of non working PC.
start -->> run -->> type cmd -->> ok
ping 192.168.1.xx
Also do this:
In non-working PC
Right click on any folder -->> Sharing and Security -
Do you get option of "Share this folder on the network" ??
or do you get warning message "If you understand the risk but still want to share the root of the drive, click here ".
if see any such warning, just enable sharing.
try creating another admin account..and then logged in using that account and see if you can access after configuring as you did with the other computers
