Hi,

I use a trash called sify dialer to connect to internet. I am on Ubuntu 7.04. The problem is frequent disconnections. The connection keeps on faltering after say every 10-20 minutes. However if I boot into XP, the connection remains uniterrupted. I don't understand this. Since I hate Windows I don't want to boot into it just for net.

Anyone experiencing this kind of problem.

are you sure you put the correct settings for dial up via ubuntu in network and network connections under system menu?

My friend, who was attracted to linux from me, found this menthord in 6 hours while I struggled for 6 months. I swore to help others with the same. So I am just passing on the favour:D
