Dear friend,
Iam using a PIV machine 915 gv chip set, 40 gb IDE HDD 256+128 MB RAM 2.66 GHZ processor my problem is that when ever i try to use some higher end appliction that is movie maker ,games, opening more than one word or pdf file (even during copying also) the processor fan will make a big sound and the processor performance became 90 to 100% and more over the pc will became dead slow and even go to hang (majority of the processor perfomance is using for system idle process)

suggest me the exact reason for this even i changed processor fan and smps still the same problem

hope some body will suggest me the best

with thanks

Install "speedfan" and monitor temperatures. I think 50-60 temperature is normal. If you see very high temperature, better adjust the heat sink or you can apply thermal paste. You can get brnaded thermalpastes (arctic silver, coolermaster etc) for 300bucks or more.

Depends on the processor. Not just Intel or AMD. It depends on model and make of the processor.
