So my PSU is dead for like 2-3 months. I was thinking of buying a new PSU but then I found a old PSU in my old computer. It looks good enough to handle. Just my old PSU has a 20 pin IDE and my mobo requires 24 pin IDE. Any adapters a available for converting a 20 pin IDE to 24 pin IDE?

This is the cheapest one I could find @ 150 - ATX 20 PIN TO 24 PIN Adapter Converter Cable FOR Desktop Motherboards | eBay

or

ATX Power cable 20M/24F - 6 inch: Amazon.in: Electronics

----

Maybe locally you would get it cheaper

There is no need to convert to 24 Pin.
20 Pin will also be fine.

Won't there be problems? Of there was no need them why would there be two types of IDE? and why would anyone make adapters?
