Samsung 2233SW

yes. 9600GT is not at all enough for FullHD gaming

and if you get something like HD4850 atleast, you may need to get a better PSU :)

Dell has not E2200HD in their LCD range it is from Benq. And my vote for Samsung 2233SW among these two. And yes you have to upgrade your GPU as well and I afraid PSU too.

VX450W should do. Get GTX260 or HD4870 if you can pay 11.5k

HDMI port....will it make any difference for Full HD glory?

So i ve decided to go for Samsung 2233SW and will buy a GTX260 or HD4870 within few days....

There's no difference in the image quality of HDMI and DVI, but you might as well get HDMI because you can hook it up with a standalone DVD player and other devices if needed.
More devices have HDMI output than DVI output.

Thats true.....but will a HDMI to DVI converter help in that case?

also abt 2233SW i read this while googling:
"one major problem i find with this monitor is that it does not like any other res except for 1920x1080. if you play a game that is lower res and cannot be adjusted up, a display popup comes on in front of your game saying that the monitor is not at the optimal res and wont go away and then go to sleep after a minute. have to turn it off and on to get back to end the game. very frustrating"

does this happen with every 1920x1080 monitor? Coz i might have to wait for some time before shifting to GTX260 or a 4870
damngoodman999
Jun 18, 2009 at 10:35 PM
GTX 260 & HD 4870 1 Gb can play @ 1920 X 10809 resolution , if u want good HD video the choose GTX 260

Jun 18, 2009 at 10:50 PM
^ yeah.....but in the meantime while i still have my 9600GT will i be able to play games at lower resolutions

^^Which games u wanna play ?? I don't think its a good idea to play games in this HD LCD with 9600GT. Or u can upgrade ur GPU later also.
ionicsachin
Jun 18, 2009 at 11:01 PM
Yeah i m going to upgrade later to GTX260 or 4870.....my doubt is can i currently play games at lower resolution than native 1080
damngoodman999
Jun 18, 2009 at 11:13 PM

^^That is the case with any LCD monitor. You HAVE to put it at native resolution. But that resolution problem shouldn't be an issue. that reviewer should've updated drivers etc.
saqib_khan
Jun 19, 2009 at 3:44 PM
desiibond is right, he must have not installed the drivers for this monitor. It doesn't happen with me, I can set any other resolution also, other than native resolution.

But it keeps on displaying this message "Not optimal resolution" before loading wndows. When the screen comes for Windows loading, then all becomes normal.

A quick reply wud be really gr8 as i will make a purchase by today or tomorrow.. :)
----------

@ashu, a full 24" display does more justice to ur rig

^^

yup, i knw i knw dude.. :)

but....the only thing im concerned is the size of the LCD, it will jus NOT fit onto my table..tats been my major problem.. :( (and NOT price) .... so u hv any LCD in mind (apart from 2233SW)... ???...coz the Acer LCD was 56.8Cms in length (horizontally) wich was too big for my table as the CPU is also on that same table (hope u got the idea).. :(

See this thread ---------> *www.thinkdigit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=110397
(i hv pics) of my working space (at home) so now u'll get a clear idea that on one side (left) is the wooden cupboard wall and on the other side (right) i hv my rig)
