This time it's all about XFX Graphic Card and their Distributor Rashi peripherals ( Kolkata Branch ).

Rashi Peripherals Pvt.Ltd.
19, R.N. Mukherjee Road,
Eastern Building, Ground Floor,
Kolkata-700 001.
Tel No.:+91 - (033) 40011604/5/6

Rashi peripherals is offering 3 years Replacement Warranty on every XFX graphic cards. Here's the Link to their official Warranty Document :

Warranty / RCC Locations

I've bought a XFX 8600GT 256MB GDDR3 graphic card on Sepetember 2008 with all the pocket money I've saved from Savera Marketing which is known as a outlet of Rashi Peripherals.

Now here's the incident :

28th September - - - There was no display coming out of the graphic card so I sent it for RMA.

After verifying and testing the card throughly their service engineer told me that the card is bad and I will get a replacement for the card and Rashi peripherals accepted it for RMA. They told me to inquire after one week.

RMA No. : 19430

5th October - - - I called them and they told me to go there.

6th October - So I went to Rashi peripherals and the guy at the counter took the RMA paper from me and went inside. After a little while he came back with only the RMA paper and gave me the paper.

Now when I looked at the RMA paper I noticed something new in it. There was word a "fungus" written with pen on the upper right corner under the remark field on the paper. The word was not there when I've received the RMA paper on 28th september.

I asked him what's this ( pointing to the word "fungus" written on the RMA paper ) and what happened to my card ?

He told me that their service engineer has found fungus on my graphic card. He also told they will not repair or replace the card as it's a physical damage.

I was taken aback by hearing this.

I told him that there was no physical damage and fungus on the graphic card when I handed it over to them and they have accepted the card for RMA after physically verifying and testing it. So if now they claim they have found fungus it's their fault.

I've tried talking to their higher authorities in the office but they told me talk with the guy at the service counter.

So after some heated argument they told me that they will send the card to XFX and get a replacement and told me to inquire after 2-3 weeks.

25th October 2010 - - - I've called them and a person said me as they have found fungus on the card they will not repair or replace it and I should take my card back.

I told him that there was no fungus on my graphics card and fungus can not be produced on graphic card which is used daily and it's their fault not mine and you guys have said me that I will get a replacement for the card. Either I want my money back or give me a card as replacement.

Now suddenly he started to act very rudely and told me to take my card back in 3 days and they will do nothing about this card further and just hanged the phone call.

So it's looks like I'm just being cheated by Rashi Peripherals.

Guys post your feedbacks and comments

Guys post your feedbacks and comments
I can suggest a few things.
1.Talk to savera, they should have as much responsibility as rashi in this regard.
2.Look into rashi webpage and find the contact no. of the head office(mumbai, I think), call them up and explain.
3.Go to rashi kolkata and ask to see the manager/guy in charge.
4.Email digit.

Finally: Go to consumer court, it takes 1/- for you to start a case(yes, 1/-).
But treat this as last option.

1. I've talked to them and they said Rashi will handle the RMA procedure and they have nothing to do with this. And that shop is well known as the outlet of Rashi - so it's something like complaining about one thief to another.

2. I've not done that yet but I even don't see much hope in it.

3. I've tried talking with every higher officials at that office but they've all said the service center guy at the counter will do everything.

4. mailed to editor at think digit dot com as well as help at consumer mate dot com - but still I've not got any reply.

Going to consumer court is a great option for sure but I think my parents won't let me do that.

yep let's hope for the best.

talk to xfx consumer service or go for consumer court.

I've little past experiences about XFX consumer service - if you mail them a person named lucky ( a bot I guess ) will answer to all of your queries and would ask you to send the faulty card to their manufacturing unit which is of course outside of india and you have to carry all the shipping cahrges is is quite high.

My parents won't let me go to the consumer court.

Is RMA paper means the acknowledgment letter given by them for the proof that they have your gfx card?i.

yep it's ( the RMA paper ) the acknowledgment letter given by them for the proof that they have my gfx card and they are pressuring me to take that faulty card back within this week.

f it is then there should be written that the physical condition was good at the time when you given it to them

they don't take any gfx card for RMA without physically verifying it and they have tested the card when I deposited it to them - though not in front of me - when I gave the faulty card to them they told me to come back after 1 hour and when I went back there they told me that there is no display, the card is bad and they will replace the card.

and how can those asshol..... change it with a pen and don't return that paper to them untill you get your gfx corrected

yep, that's my point too as I've signed on that RMA paper reading all the statements on that paper and there was nothing like that ( I mean the word fungus ) but they just can not write whatever they please after 1 week with a pen which I've not read before as it's not there and signed for.

I'm not going to give them the RMA paper unless I get a working gfx card back.

Another interesting thing is they have accepted the card for RMA and there's no way after 1 week they can claim that there is some physical damage in it ( how can they found fungus and how come it's even a physical damage - do we run gfx cards under water. ). If they find some physical damage in it later it happened in their service center for sure ( for which I've no responsibility ) and they are responsible for it.

Rashi Peripherals Delhi has given a member of our forum a new and upgraded gfx card for free as replacement but in here they have charged a guy Rs. 1600 to get a upgraded card as replacement ( they both have the same model and they both got the same upgraded card as replacement )

just read the page and see the guy clear_lot have gotten for free and this is the way every customer should be handled.

so it's looks like rashi guys ( here at kolkata ) is really cheating it's customers for some fishy reason.

rma paper will be in printed format know?then writing on it with a pen won't cause anything.go to that guy talk to him once again if he start to tell the same story, then talk with him in higher voice and tell him you will go to consumer court and just take the details of the jurisdiction their shops belongs to.(just give it a chance u really don't need to go to the court:wink:)
please answer to my question in overheating problems thread.

Rashi Peripherals is a bunch of idiots. I went to them yesterday to replace my Logitech G15 and G9, they were in break, I waited till 3-30 PM. Then the security asked me to come in and said nobody is available to attend me. That office is absolute mess. Phone lines open, tables scattered everywhere...POS. They are pathetic.
I will pray to god that your XFX card issue will be solved soon.

@topgear, now its time to teach the Rashi bustards a good lesson that they'll remember for quite sometime. cause its really enough. such bad treatment i have never seen. and from your last RMA problem with viewsonic, you'll get past this issue one way or another. maybe not very soon but if Digit backs you, you'll, hopefully.

^^ thanks guys for all of your encouraging words and suggestions -

they have changed the office decoration inside ( referring to the ithehappy's post ) and that's the reason I suspect that they have did something with my gfx card ( as their were many kind of work was going inside the office that time and even now ) and trying to get rid off this now as it's their fault.

@ sukesh1090 - The RMA paper is in the printing format and every condition on it was in printed format ( without only the word fungus written by Sambhu ).

They have got many kind of powers and tie-ups - that's why they behave reckless with their customers - if you tell them you will go to any kind of legal authorities or do any kind of such stuff they will say then go their first and come to them later - they are not much worried about these.

I don't think rashi guys of delhi will help as they have local branches on many places and one branch don't want to handle another tasks - if you know someone working at rashi then you might get something proper ( at least I've seen this happening at the local branch of this city ). They are so biased and don't treat all customers equally.

and I think their higher authorities is kinda same ( if you mail them 99.9% chance is you won't get a replay or they will back up their employees only and will only waste your time for bullshit reason )

That's why at one branch one got a replacement card for free - on another branch people either have to pay for what they should get for free or they just refuse RMA claims with bullshit reason.

Regarding your Acer netbook as they have told you they will replace the faulty part lets just hope for the best.

BTW, answered your question on OH thread.

@ ithehappy - yep, they are now a messed up bunch of people - this was not like this back on 2007 where only guy was handling RMA process and that was good and fast and that was enough - now they have 4 person and 2 tech engineers ( actually dumb asses ) and their quality of service at this local branch has dropped like hell.

yeah - pray for me.

@ Sam.Shab - the thing they really fear is bad publicity on major medias like magazines, newspapers, on reputed tech news website etc - that just makes some really strong public opinion against them.

So if digit guys can help me in this issue ( and publish this on the mag it would be really great ) and people would really be aware and come to know what they are doing with their customers who need RMA.

BTW, mailed to the editor of digit and consumermate and waiting for reply.

I think this rma thing works from place to place. I got my xfx6600 vanilla replaced in the last week of warranty and that too within a week. But i'm near bangalore and i got a new card of the same type from rashi. On top of that my card was rusted on the heatsink and bracket part. It got damaged due to an earthing fault at my hostel room.
I didn't buy directly from rashi but from a shop that is affiliated with them. I've also got my 500gb hard disk replaced which got bad within one year of 24x7 use :p
But i got a different model which was slimmer and had 16mb buffer but my older hard disk had 32mb buffer. I'm not complaining though.

I know warranty differs from place to place but what they are ( RPTech kolkata branch ) doing is simply bullshit.

See including you two members of this forum has gotten replacement for physically damaged gfx card - so I suppose xfx replace gfx card sent to them.

but they are refusing my RMA claim though the card don't has any physical damage at the time when they received it and now they are refusing me for some deceiving reason and they are not even willing to sent the card to xfx for replacement.

Sent mail to the their central support though I don't expect much as they might be same and will give me another ****ing reason or not even a reply.

asusrma@rptechindia.com

BTW, mailed ( 26th oct ) to the editor of digit and consumermate and waiting for reply.

Well as the saying goes, knocking on the heavens door. Try this:
Register your xfx product here: Support
After registration, log in support contact form for technical only.

Shoot a mail from there mentionining your serial number, the date of purchase and the issue & saying that rashi is the only service centre authorized for replacement/repair.
In the end say that unless xfx support authorizes the RMA, they can't replace the card. So I will appreciate if you can send me an email authorising replacement/repair to Rashi peripherals. Also, add that you are a moderator for digit forums and you have logged the entire "incident" in a proper manner & then you post the link of this thread.

See how their reply is. If they send a mail authorising it, print that out and give it to rashi but keep a xerox of it for yourself.
If possible, send couple of pictures of the card (attach the URL of the pic if you cant attach it). Most likely that green thing is a leak capacitor/capacitor plague.

Let me put some points, past experiences :

One guy was refused with his warranty claim of a 8600GT - they just said the warranty is only 1 year ( Distributed by Akshay Enterprise ).

He mailed XFX and they ( someone named Lucky ) said - The warranty depends on what distributor offers regardless of registration ! ( which suppose to give you lifetime warranty )

So there point was if a distributor offers 1 year warranty and it's one year only for customers who bought their products form that certain distributor and the product registration is just valueless.

But he have not given up his hope and continued mailing XFX and at last he got some kind of negotiation from XFX from the company. Read below what XFX has decided for him :

He should first fill a from, make a print out, Pack his faulty product up and sent the printed form along with the faulty product to their manufacturing unit ( located somewhere in china ) and he have to carry all the shipping charges.

Now as the shipping charge is quiet high ( export and import ) he decided not proceed in that matter any further ( as the he could get a better card including some bucks with the cost of shipping charges.

So it's clear as daylight XFX knows very well who there distributors are in here and what they are doing with their customers/consumers. But they don't care as long as they get their large share of profit from the distributors and they don't even bother to take care about any customer.

If a distributor claims warranty for product they will do it in a proper way and that's why some people got replacement card of their XFX products

but if distributor or it's branch is lazy and don't wish to give a customer his warranty for some ill reason then there's nothing much a customer can do as the company will tell him to do some things which will cost more than the product.

=============================================================================

=============================================================================

Now regarding my issue XFX will not do much ( as Rashi is a BIG distributor of'em ) - XFX at best may tell me to ship the product to them which I will not do as it's expensive and that will give Rashi chance to clear it's hands from my warranty claim.

I don't have any photo of that gfx card .

There was no leaked capacitors or stuff like that on the card - in-fact there was no physical damage on that card - the issue was only there was no display was coming out of that card.

Rashi guys has accepted the gfx card after physically verifying it and even tried to run it on there system - but as it was not displaying anything they issued RMA no.

Now Rashi is offering 3 years warranty on XFX gfx card and it's also written as 1095 days on the RMA paper.

Now if after one week they claim some sick thing like fungus or anything it's simply their fault as the card was with them in there service center and they just can not write anything they please with a pen on printed RMA paper!

So I would make my point crystal clear - I want a working and equivalent gfx card from Rashi Peripherals - they will do whatever it takes to get it from XFX like shipping etc.

BTW, here's some update :

yesterday I sent a mail to the Rashi Peripherals Central Support office and got this reply :

Dear sir
We will check with Branch & update to you

and they have CCed the mail to their kolkata branch.

Lets' see what happens next.

Update as on 3rd - Nov. - 2010 :

On 29th Oct 2010 - Sent a mail to rashi central support center & I got this reply from Rashi :

Dear sir
We will check with Branch & update to you

It was by someone named rajkumar and they CCed t6he mail to the Kolkata branch.

But as of today 3rd Nov 2010 I have got not any reply on the update status.

So looks like this local branch is ignoring their central office - what a worst example of administration.

I think something fishy is going on.

BTW, I will keep you guys updated on any kind of progress.

^^ they are just bunch of retards and

Update Nov 4 2010 ......

I've not got the reply from them yet - so now it looks like I'll not a get working gfx card back from them.

which thing is making me more angry and sick is even after saying me they would reply they have not replied and delaying this matter.

on 29th oct I've sent a mail to them @ 4.40AM and got the reply @ 10.30 AM maybe. - that was quick - but now they are taking much more time and trying to delaying this matter forever bcoz it will reveal many dirty secrets of theirs.

How come it can take so long to check a update status with a branch office - now I must say their central support is pathetic as well.

how many mails I would have to send them - yes you are right they are all same - the branch office sucks in providing good service and the central support office only make big claims but can't even control their branch office and can't let the consumer know about status of a disputed matter intentionally.

What kind of corporate and professional manner is this ?

Another strange thing I've not got reply from digit ( maybe they are too busy at this moment ) or even consumermate - now I don't expect digit/consumermate will solve all the warranty issues for me bcoz they get tons of mails each day and digit guys are very busy with many important tasks - so they can not be blamed for not replying.

but even consumermate have not replied which is supposed to be make consumers aware about their rights.

Not getting a reply feels really bad and it looks like a kind of ignorance but if I get even a single reply it would make me feel a lot better and encourage me.

TopGear, have you done what the Sorcerer had suggested about registering your XFX accelerator and logging a technical ticket for support. It is quite obvious that Rashi (be it what ever regiional office) are laid back and lazy. Also they follow the mantra that 90% of the consumers / service seekers are fraudulent.

Till the time hold your patience and persistence, we are here with you. Also update the Rashi Feedback Thread in the hardware sections. It has 'eyes' on it. The light will shine....soon.

Not much of a help, but most I can do. Best.

they were so scared with the thought of me suing them that they sent one more HP7 to me
and in the end i got two HP7 , one of which was completely free and made for a good present for my cousin bro :p

so just threaten them and if it doesn't work ,actually take them to court( i was going too) and they'll pee in their pants

Thanks guys for your responses.

Now as I said earlier it would be very difficult for me to go to consumer court ( my parents just don't want to and they are always saying to concentrate more on studying ).

and I'm sorry for that but I'll keep it in my mind and I've found another consumer forum :
Consumer Court

I don't any contact mail id or no. of xfx sales manager and I don't believe xfx will do much - plz read this post again why I'm saying this
*www.thinkdigit.com/forum/hardware-q/133296-graphic-card-warranty-problem.html#post1293158

Now as you guys know service center guys don't care much about packaging/manual/cables - they just accept the product and the product gets replaced.

But if you want to send it to the company ( here xfx ) they require original equipment, components, manuals, cables, documents, and packaging.

So they ( XFX ) don't accept a faulty product from customers without box pack but they do accept it from a distributor of their product -- so what a distributor of their product will say to them is much more important than a customer.

Now coming to the point - Rashi offers 3 years replacement warranty all over the country on xfx gfx cards and as far as I've read in this forum some members got their products replaced by Rashi ( two even got replaced damaged gfx card ).

read these by clear_lot

*www.thinkdigit.com/forum/pc-compon...rds-related-queries-here-411.html#post1288954
*www.thinkdigit.com/forum/pc-compon...rds-related-queries-here-411.html#post1289274

and this one by redlofredlof

So what a distributor ( Rashi ) sends to company ( XFX ) gets replaced without even verifying but a customer will not get this privilege ever from a company ( read xfx ).

Now coming to the my point :

So it's looks like Rashi is replacing xfx gfx cards but for some unknown reason their Kolkata branch is not willing to offer any kind of proper service for xfx gfx cards or demanding money to replace a gfx card

( they took Rs.1600 from a guy when his replacement product arrived ) but on delhi branch clear_lot got his gfx card replaced without even spending a single penny.

So Rashi is not offering same level of service through all it's regional centers and the kolkata branch is really cheating with people.

I've mailed all these to their central support center - asusrma@rptechindia.com

and got this reply from rajkumar.rajak@rptechindia.com on 29th Oct

Dear sir
We will check with Branch & update to you
Rgd
Rajkumar

and they have CCed the mail to these addresses :

rmakolkata@rptechindia.com
manas.biswas@rptechindia.com

he is the guy in charge their and ignored me when I complained him about the service center guy at the counter ( His name is Sambhu ) and manas.biswas told me sambhu will do all things regarding my gfx card and this guy sambhu is the one who claimed about "Fungus"

As of today I've not got any updates regarding the situation ( I've sent him two more mails on 3rd and 4th Nov ).

But as their central support office personnel ( ie Rajkumar ) said he will check with branch and update with the status me - I will wait for another week and if I don't get a reply I will send this thread link to them for sure.

There's no reply on update status as usual. ( Still waiting for it ).

BTW, Guys I think you've confused some points :

1. It's not that Rashi has not accepted the gfx card - Rashi has accepted it after physical verification and testing it on their rig and after one week Rashi is claiming that they have found fungus in it. ( the service center guy just took a pen and wrote the word fungus on the printed RMA paper and just told me to take the card back )

2. In this one week period they must have done something wrong with the gfx card and physically damaged it - ( construction works were going on inside their office at that time ). and that's why they were telling me take the card back.

3. As they have claimed false things about that card, physically damaged it - I've not took the gfx card back from them yet and it's still with them, in their service center. I only have the RMA paper.

4. I've not taken any picture of this card and I don't have the box with me. But the Warranty period of 1095 days is clearly printed on the RMA paper though.

5. So if I take the faulty card back from Rashi they will just wash off their hands from this and as Rashi has physically damaged it XFX will not accept this gfx card from me.

6. As Rashi has accepted the gfx card after thorough verification ( it's all printed on the RMA paper ) and later physically damaged it in their service center - it's Rashi's sole responsibility to get me a equivalent or upgraded and working gfx card.

Why it's taking ages for Rsshi to let me know about update status - they can not check with their branch office even in a week or it's just that Rashi kolkata branch office is just ignoring it's central office!

Big companies and distributor's or any other defaulters always stop responding - I think they don't have enough courage to face a customers/consumers real claim.

BTW, if they are not going to give me a reply on this upcoming week I will send them the thread link and will quote all the points of this post itself.

So I request you guys to comment more so that Rashi can how much people is annoyed with their after sales service and it will sure create some pressure on them.

==============================================================================

@ sukesh1090 - one friendly suggestion - create a separate thread regarding your Acer issue and it will draw much more attention - clearly mention there what kind of issues you have faced in Chronological format and you will be even able to mail the link to concerning authorities and it will create some pressure on them for sure. BTW, don't forget to PM the thread link to me.

Can it be, the denial of warranty, related to the fact that xfx does not manufacture nvidia cards any more. And also there aren't any 8600's available in stock.

No it's not like this.

It's just denial of warranty by Rashi.

XFX is still providing replacement for 8600 series cards

Here this guy clear_lot has got his faulty 8600GT replaced on last month ( though it took 40 days to get this ):

So I just want what claer_lot has got and Rashi should provide same level of service through all of it's branches.

BTW, sent a mail to rajkumar of rptech and CCed the mail to to their central support.

On that mail I've gave them the thread link so they can see for real what is really going on. I think this time it will get their attention.

Here's what I've sent on the mail yesterday and still got no reply ( as usual ) :

Dear sir,

More than a week has passed since I got your reply and still I have
not got any news on the update status.

I've sent you two more mails on 3rd and 4th November regarding the
update status of this issue and as usual I've got no reply from you
or you kolkata branch.

So how long it will really take to resolve this issue ? I'm getting impatience.

I'm a moderator for Digit forum, and respective member some other tech
communities and I've logged the entire "issue" in a proper manner.
Currently we are discussing the whole "issue" in here :

Rashi ( kolkata ) has accepted the gfx card after thorough
verification. It's all printed on the RMA paper and after a week your
service center guy just can not write anything he wish on a printed
RMA paper without my acknowledgement and can not deny to offer
replacement for their own fault - so it's Rashi's sole
responsibility to get me a equivalent or upgraded and working graphic
card as a replacement.

I'm completely disappointed and unsatisfied with the way your Kolkata
branch is behaving with me regarding this RMA issue. It's just wasting
my valuable times.

If you are just going to ignore me and don't give me a reply I will
lodge a complain in consumer court and consumer forum..

But I still do believe you and I think you will take some proper
action to resolve this issue immediately so that I can get a
equivalent or upgraded and working graphic card as a replacement.

Now it looks like not only their branch but Rashi is cheating with me regarding this XFX 8600GT ( RMA No. 19430 ) warranty so I've changed thread title to : Rashi Peripheral Cheating with XFX Graphic Card Warranty

will file a complain later.

I've sent a mail to Rashi and got reply on 29th Oct and still 15 days have not passed so I'll have to for a reply from Rashi a few more days before filing a complain in Consumer Online Resource & Empowerment Centre

Remember the case of koshyjohn with HP - he filed a complain on june 208 and his issue resolved on nov 2008. So things like this just takes too much time.

I dun think going to consumer court or pestering their office with repetitive calls is gonna solve the problem.Wat we can n should do is spread the word n stop ppl buying from Rashi.Only then they will take customers seriously!!

Rashi are pathetic really. Consumer Court could be an option if you are willing (we do not need even lawyers to appeal there). However I guess that could be too much of a hassle too.
Anyway best of luck, hope you can get your card replaced soon.

The truth is big distributors like this don't care much about consumer courts ( unless somebody make them to care about ) but they do count tech magazines, on-line reviews etc.

Another funny thing is consumermate.com which is suppose to be protect consumer rights and help people choose the right brand and publishes warranty issue have not even replied.

Bhai Call Bombay office tell the hole story and what you are facing throw. And also complain the his international office and give the link of this thread. And if you want i can call to rasi Bombay on your behalf.Just file petition because you are the only one customer who facing this. The service centre guy who told you the "Fungus" thing really they illiterate person. Please complain in international office and bombay office and you file case on consumer court and good thing is you don't need a lawyer do that and warn Rasi bombay you are going to this.I am with you.

thanks for your kind offer of help and I'll let you know through a PM if needs be at some time later.

I've sent mail to their central office and got a reply and they told me they will check with kolkata branch and will update me about this ( on 29th Oct ) but now even the central office of Rashi has stopped replying and I've sent them three mails so far for the update status.

i already read this this 2'wice but i dont know wat to tell

@ Topgear

My friend - i already have in mind most of them are cheated by this RASHI only one thing to say lets all of them avoid this Rashi products @ any cost ! never buy those products all of them send mail to marketing manager on their perspective BRANDS " as we r not buying any of ur products regarding this rashi terms " this may look funny but TRUST me sure it ll work when we all stand together !

@ topgear - Its kick back time !

Topgear , we have compromise ourselves that we live in India ! we cannot take much steps ! though they are international brands - we have adjust with the DISTRIBUTOR ,PATIENCE is only thing we can do !

Sorry to say !

thanks for your comments but I think patience has it's limits and those cheaters always stop responding and don't have to know how to behave properly and sometime it becomes really hard to talk with them politely.

topgear best of luck with your rma process. keep up your spirit and dont get disheartened. justice will be there for sure.

and so its best to avoid what all is backed by rashi. asus, xfx and others please tell me?

Product service sometime varies from place to place. Rashi delhi and blore has replaced physically damaged gfx card but Rashi Kolkata is not even replacing a faulty gfx card without any kind of physical on it for some false claims of theirs and the starnge thing is their central support office is supporting this kind of deceiving behavior of their kolkata branch.

The card is is Rashi Kolkata service center and they might have physically damaged it. So I've not taken the card back.

Till the time hold your patience and persistence, we are here with you. Also update the Rashi Feedback Thread in the hardware sections. It has 'eyes' on it. The light will shine....soon.

Not much of a help, but most I can do. Best.

This is what I need from you guys - just be with me.

What i don't understand is how the heck can fungus be physical damage. Physical damage is said to have occured if there is a crack on the pcb. A part of the pcb being chipped off. Missing smd(surface mount device, like resistor, capacitor, IC etc), scratches on any part of the card, signs of tampering like worn out screws, tracks on pcb being cut and burn marks on the pcb.
When i gave my card back for warranty back in 2008 it had rust on its bracket and heat sink.

& even questioning the point of giving a new card with the people inside..he had to wait till the rashi guys decide that the upgraded card was 'worth' giving him..in all it took him few months or so..u have to persist with them, many give up,this is where they win..keep pressurizing them, that is when they start listening...

yep, even if the guy at the counter has claimed about "Fungus" ( though it's big lie ) can't be a physical damage. Moreover, how come "fungus" can be produced on a gfx card which was used daily for at-least 3-4 hours.

How the hell Rashi just keep these kind of semi literate maniacs at service center who don't know what they are talking about and even don't know how to behave with a person who need after sales service.

Also their central support center is bad as the branch in kolkata so that they have just stopped replying. They have no shame while making false claims and lie to people.

@Topgear: Henceforth..dont buy Rashi Products......
specially XFX.....

I will not buy anything distributed by Rashi in the future and won't even recommend any products distributed by them.

That "place to place" is actually varies from country to country. That's understandable. Its pretty obvious that since Rashi is the only distri for altec lansing, asus and xfx (for what reason- God knows) and hence they are acting as a you-know-what.

That could be but as far as I heard Rashi blore and delhi has replaced gfx card ( those were physically damaged ) without much hassle but they have completely ****ed up their service in most of the cities though.

Also XFX is no good - XFX will just waste your time and claim that warranty is reseller responsibility or in very special situation ( like this ) will offer you to send back the card for rma with "proper packaging" to their Hong Kong rma center. But for a distributor there's no need for original box pack - what a sick joke.

XFX and Rashi is all here to just make big profits and we are here to just face issues like this - as you said even if you send something to them like you are a mod/important member of some forum they won't just listen bcoz they know very well that we can not do much .

How many people go through forums if they have to buy some tech products - I know the number has increased but it's still not enough - so they just sell their bad products with bad after sales service - so they have have no headache about bad publicity or losing market share.
As for consumer court even if you win and they don't want to respect the result you've to go the civil court which is another lengthy process.
Regarding my issue - as they have claimed bullshit I've not took my card back from them as I suspect they have physically damaged it while it was ( and still is ) in their service center and I will not take this faulty card back anyday. I just want a a working and eqivalent card as replacement but who really cares ??!!

Dude fungus forms on food items and sweaty clothes which have not been washed for ages and kept in a damp condition. A computer peripheral is subjected to heat and 8600 is a hot plate. Those guys just don't want to spend money on any warranty claim. How long has it been since you bought this card? If its nearly 3years then don't stress your mind and save up cash to buy a new card which will give you better performance. Also tell your parents about the warranty issue.

Well my first experience with Rashi gone good. I deposited my dead Logitech G15 KB on 1st November. At first they said, particularly the person who took it, if I am not much wrong, his name is 'Sambhu' that I might not get warranty coz Logitech has stopped support for the product. My KB was within warranty, it will be finished on January,2011. So that 'Might not' word irritated me and after depositing the KB to them I came back home and first thing I done was to e-mail Rashi @their central e-mail id which is- asusrma@rptechindia.com and stated that my KB is very much inside warranty and still they said I might not get warranty. You won't believe they replied just next day morning and asked me to send them a scanned copy of my KB purchase bill. I took a picture from my cell and sent it to them. They replied instantly that- "That is ok. I have asked my team to arrange the replacement. Kindly coordinate with them.
Regards
Ashok Goenka."
I waited two days and called Rashi today, they said my NEW KB is ready. I went, took my KB. When giving that same person who took the KB was saying me I didn't need to email the central as it would get replaced very easily.
So am I lucky or Rashi is becoming 'near good' status? Dunno.

This is exactly my point. The card is 2 years old.

I've mailed them 4 times so far. First I mailed to asusrma@rptechindia.com and got a reply on 29th oct from someone named rajkumar rajak ( rajkumar.rajak@rptechindia.com ) and he said me he will check with branch and update me about this and CCed it to :

rmakolkata@rptechindia.com
manas.biswas@rptechindia.com

After this till today I've sent 3 more mails to them and got no reply on the update status. So what's wong is going with me ? Why the people at Rashi is not even replying me about update ?

Do you see any fungus on the card yourself?? Tell them to show the fungus to you. Fungus could only grow on the card if you left it in a damped room unused for months, even then its hard to believe because fungus grows on organic substances, not on a gpu.
Do you know any mean badass looking guy? ;-)Take him with you, my friend was being mistreated by supreme some years back, then he took his uncle with him who was a bit scary looking and worked in the police, they gave rma immediately:twisted:

PS: On a side note, every company should be like corsair, I just lost the cap of my pen drive, mailed them and they sent me a replacement cap free of cost in just 2 weeks(from usa), thats the kind of after sales support customers deserve.

Yes that's his email id. That 'Sambhu' is a pushable guy I think, yesterday a gentleman came there to take his replaced Altec Lansing speaker. At first he(sambhu) said he has to come back after 2-3 days. Then that man pushed him and sambhu said him to wait, the new speaker came within 15 mins.
So I think after mailing to Ashok Goenka you should talk to Sambhu.

No when I gave the card to the dick head there was no fungus or any sort of physical damage. It's after 1 week they were making sick claims.

Your friend was a lucky one - one guy from kolkata ( he is our forum member too - I forgot the name ) bought a XFX 7900 or somekind of highend card from supreme and supreme just ripped off 5k more from him than the actual price - when after 2 days he came to know about the price he went there with his parents and supreme guys just refused his claims and they and they said it was 5k more before 2 days! and it's not possible to refund anything.

I was once being mistrated by supreme people - it was related to mora mobo - it was not functioning after the day of purchase - so I went there with the mobo and they were giving me bullshit reason and after some heated arguments I make them to refund the sell.

So I really don't need some mean badass looking guy ( fawkess from fallout 3 ) with me - when after 7 days they refused to RMA to replace the card for fungus reason ( after some heated conversation ) I made them to keep the card with them for replacement.

mailed to Ashok Goenka on 11th Nov as but still got no reply and yesterday on 12th nov called that Sambhu ( f*c*i*g cheater ) - now he is telling that he has found fungus and even rust ( now that's another new claim by that guy ) on the gfx card- I told him that it's their fault as they have not kept the card in a proper location in the service center and I even told him that I will lodge a complain in consumer court but he answered me to do that first and call'em later.

so at the end of the day it's clear as crystal that not only Rashi Peripheral is cheating with me and that's why their guys at central office is not replying and co-operating with their employees in the local branch to cheating with me about the warranty/RMA issue.

Wasn't there some TV show "Beware" on CNBC which helps you to do all this or something?

i have posted a link of this to CHIP forum also so that members of that become aware also. have done any wrong ?

There's a way to put across that message. Just because they are acting like hooligans, doesn't mean we have to bring our lifestyle down to their level. Practice civil tongue even online, its a community. I asked the mod/admin to put up the rashi experience thread so that people will put up their complaints with facts and bill/challan number. Heck, just to make this count even I am currently through an Asus RMA so that I can put it up over there as well. I am not seeing anyone else doing it. So running around in other forums doesn't cut when your own people of your own forums ain't doing it right.

I've told people that if rashi experience thread is filled with a lot of complaints, I can show it. If I show few out of many people who are putting up anti-rashi comments, they will obviously say that its either its an isolated incident blown out of proportion or some of the people who are creating a nuisance are working for rival companies. This is how they will defend themselves across the table when you talk about it. Numbers count a lot and numbers of complaints need to be backed up by facts.

There's an effective way to get things done and I am offering it. If people who are complaining about rashi are not putting up facts in that rashi thread, there's nothing that can be done.

@ Topgear: I'll see if I can get the details.

^^ Lol if you are going to put up messages like that, people will doubt you. Rather than putting up blunt messages like this, put up the real facts- challans, email conversations, detail of RMA trips especially date and name of the person. Let the people decide for themselves. People here are smart to know who is a company rep just by looking at the way the posts are made.

By the way, if you run around like this many people will be under the impression you are 3rd party PR agent working for a rival distributor and trying to deface a company. There are ways to put the message across effectively and keeping yourself safe at the same time. Said it before and will say it again- no need to bring our upbringing and lifestyle down to their level.

Don't get me wrong - going to consumer court is a option to get justice but there are several drawbacks in it and the process is very time consuming - I've a little bit experience in this as well.

I'm not being humble with them anyway and if you do a lot of shouting they will tell you to come after 5 PM and what will they do - nothing but some plain bullshit.

I will pray to god that your XFX card issue will be solved soon.

hi all, rashi alone is not the problem creator. we have akshay enterprises for company as well... submitted my XFX 9400GT 4 weeks back, which is under warranty. after 3.5 weeks which was spent by their tech engineers to check the card status, they are now saying that they need the card to be sent to XFX HQ in singapore(wherever it might be) which will be very time consuming. hence a quick solution has been offered. if i pay 2k more then they can offer me G210 as an replacement option. probably the G210 card costs around2.5-3k in the market. So, in the end, i dont even know whether they have actually got the replacement card and are trying to fleece money out of me.

please refer to the link below for another case which made me think rashi peripherals wil be better. that was before i tumbled on this thread.

yep, I've also heard a lot about them and they are no good. Every XFX distributor/dealer in Kolkata is just unwilling to offer after sales warranty service for low priced cards and sometime for even high priced cards as well. So it's looks like we should avoid All XFX cards at all cost - that may prevail some sense into them.

Even if you get it from some online shop you may have to face some really hard time with distributors like this. They don't honor products bought from online shop or other state. They will only offer local warranty and it comes with this kind of warranty issues.

So another option is to avoid all the products distributed by these kind of distributors but that will give us very narrow choice and not many people like to ship their product to other state ( if you bought it online/ from some other state ) to get warranty.

I'm totally agree with topgear.
I already have this kind of experience in recent past.
Some distributors will not take product for RMA if those things are not distributed by them locally.
Even Tirupati din not take my Palit card even thought it was clearly written on the box "Imported by Tirupati".....

^^
Well then order it online. High time people left the stigma of online shopping vs. offline. People want to see the tangible product -- and then later on prefer to face distributors like Rashi/XFX.

Not hitting at you Revolution, but just a general trend I notice amongst Indian buyers.

U may be right at ur point.
But we are not wrong either.
The situation is fcking different in Kolkata than other city like Delhi or Mumbai.
Doesn't matter how smart or noob u could be fcked up like me.

But,u should never trust any dealer blindly what I did last time trusting fcking M D Computer.
Always beware and try to stay away from this kind of fcking cheater brand like XFX and dealer like M.D Computer.
M.D. have tendency to cheat noob ppl like me.
And RMA service varies place to place so we have to share our experiences in forums so ppl will know about the truth.....

They will probably say physical damage (since the fan is not working)
or they would probably say, stop pestering us, your card is still working, come back when it dies completely so that we can send you back again saying warranty void (fungus)

See, I was not pointing fingers at you or people from Calcutta. I guess the saying "one burnt -- twice shy" should be applicable here. It is with shared experiences from you all will we get the true pictures of the Indian IT hardware market. Sad but true, it is a bad situation specially brick-and-mortal shops. @ Topgear.. actually its the first time that I'm hearing about rudeness on Rashi's behalf.. my friend had a burnt 7600 GT and they replaced it with 8600GT... Once I went with my friend to their office (Chandigarh) to replace his motherboard.. and they did..

Regarding the warranty, kick your dealer's a$$.. warranty is of 3 years.. I know that.. I've been using XFX cards all my life..

the problem is the Great manufacturers who appointed Rashi peripherals as their distributors are not aware of this dilapidated situation faced by their customers. Recently i have read that A-DATA also is appointing that abominable Rashi as their Distributor. In the respective sites of those Manufacturers can we not write a feedback regarding Rashi?

that's really a appropriate name regarding this situation.

In this issue Rashi is both distributor and dealer ( bought it from Savera Marketing which is well known as the outlet of Rashi peripheral Kolkata ) of this gfx card - so I may not be able to do much.

BTW, they should not be kicked on a$$ but somewhere else - figure it out and you will find it more appropriate for them.

yep, I also think sop - it's not that XFX don't know anything but they are acting as deaf and dumb and they would always say you Warranty is Reseller's Responsibility ( even if Reseller is offering 1 year instead of 3 or denying warranty for bullshit reason like this ). They blindly supports what distributors say to them and in here they don't have any headache regarding consumer issue - they can only think of big profits which is just coming to them through this of distributors.

XFX product quality has changed now from the past and I've also noticed that these kind of fungus distributors ( kolkata has 2 XFX distributor! ) are unwilling to provide warranty on low to mid range Nvidia gpu based xfx products.

So "as of now" this issue is not going to solve and I'm going to take that card back

I am the latest addition to the team******
I had submitted my faulty HD 5770 to them at 18-10. After than I called them several times and they were keep saying this card is out of stock and once available they r gonna replace it. It was confirmed that the card was faulty n I'm gonna get a new one. last week Wednesday they confirmed about the new card. I sent a friend to collect it. Once I've reached Kolkata on 20th, i found out that it is the same card, I have given to them. I rushed to rashi on Monday morning @ 12. After a lot of fight, they asked me to come after 5 when they would test the card with games.
I went to Vedant and have told them about the incident. They instantly called a guy named Vikash, who was present at that time and asked me to explain everything to him. He is a big-shot in Rashi.
He called someone and has redirected me to a guy called Sambhu Das. I again went to Rashi but the guys didn't do anything until 6:30. There was a superior named Manas Biswas who I think is the main culprit. When I told them that they informed me in phone that my card has been replaced, he told me that I was lying and they did not find any defect and all the games were running perfectly. This guy is a genuine *******.
However their so called engineers nothing other than idiots, they don't have driver for ATi cards and tried to install Nvidia driver.
After I told them what to do, they downloaded Catalyst 10.4, net framework 2.0 and install Delta force 2. I was terrified by their choice of games. But when they started the game, instantly the system gets hanged. Now it was 7:30. I started to shout and some big guys who were relatively good came out. I told them everything. Now Manas changed his tone and said leave the card over there and they would replace it. I simply said I can't wait for another 1 month and needed the money back. After a long fight I have won and they gave me credit note of 8.3K for Vedant. It is now 8:30 and I've won the battle.
Next day I went to Vedant and bought XFX HD 6870 @ 14.9K+Vat.

I had to post it. Because he somehow manages to get justice out of those thugs by his own efforts and kudos to his hard work. I appreciate it very much.

A personal victory of one or two won't change the situation though. Read below why did I say so :

I think they should have gave cilus a complete refund - depreciation cost can't be valid for warranty claims - even if you have used a product and it shows some defect in warranty period you have complete to right to get the product replaced or get a complete refund without reducing even a single penny from the price you have paid while buying that product

In my case they are not even willing to test it and keep telling me to take the card back. So "as of now" I'm going to take the card back.

So it's obvious two people are creating this kind of warranty probs and the other people at Rashi is co-operating with them. I told it coz how many people will really want to wait for 7-8 hours there to teach them the lesson. and sometime even that may not work.

People have important works to do and warranty claim does not means waste of your invaluable times . Also not all people can wait for upto 7-8 pm and 7-8 hours in there office for personal reason. distance, age etc.

I usually go there around 11am-12pm and it's very hard ( and somewhat impossible ) for me to wait that long for distance.

Last time I went there at 11.30am and the sambhu guy was not there. I asked manas ( service center in-charge ) to let me know the status of my gfx card but he said sambhu deals with those. At 1.15pm sambhu showed up. Then the security guard there gave us serial and I got sn2 and told us to stand in the line . Now after entering the office the sambhu guy stared his own works ignoring the long line in-front of him. From 1.50 pm ( meanwhile he handed over another guy he knew a large speaker set - that guy did not even stand in the line ) he started to people in front of him him and said he will do it only upto 2pm.

They take advantage of this kind of situation and denies warranty claims/ returns faulty product again and again ( how many people want to go to these kinds of thugs again and again ) and if you have to say something about any issue you have to do that after the official time for customers is over as you are making some kind of secret deal with them.

They do this for cheating people. If they have to do something they should do it in official work hours for customers which is written clearly at the counter. Why they do it secretly and why we have to always waste our time for their faults and greediness.

Rashi has made big claim on their website but their service engineer ( ? ! ) don't even know about appropriate video driver - how can you trust on there service and anything they say to you about warranty. They don't know anything about hardware components/ what is called dust or fungus and how to install proper driver for HW components. How come Rashi has recruited them ? This now raised a big question mark about there after sales service.

So now it is not a just a warranty issue of mine only - they are doing same kind of thing with every people possible customers who needs after sales service. Not every people use forum and know a lot about HW components - so their story never gets published.

But I've published mine and some of our members posted their experiences as well and now we have got somewhat a clear picture fo the whole thing.

Rashi should really consider changing their employees at the kolkata branch office - specially the two mentioned in the above post and there service engineers.

It would be best if someone ( like some one linked with reputed mags or some reputed websites/organization ) with enough resource and contacts can contact the higher official of Rashi regarding their kolkata branch office and if some reputaed mag/website can publish about this kind of incident.

Wake Up Digit people - it's time for do something.

Hey Topgear, did you bring your faulty card back? As I told you completely clean it and submit after some times.
And it is a suggestion to all the forum members, before taking your cards to any of the service centers, especially Rashi, clean the card properly, mainly the fans and the Heat-sink section. Right now Rashi has came with a new story of Fungus and if any kind of dust is present on those areas they may claim it to be fungus.
While submitting my card for the 1st time, they told me something about fungus, however I cleared the card and submitted it to them. Also taking the RMA doc from them after submitting your card, make them right that the card is fungus free in time of submission.
I think these king of simple steps may help us to fight back Rashi or any other service center.

Yesterday went into Rashi @ 11 AM with my elder bro to take my card back. As usually the Sambhu guy returned my card back saying it has fungus and I said to him now face to face with more loud and clear voice how the hell fungus can be grown on gfx card which was used daily for 4-6 hour atleast. Now he gave me all sort of crappy reason.

I took the card back and went into the shop ( with my elder bro ) from which I bought it. First they refused and said they can't do anything but I told them fungus can't be produced on a gfx card and according to Rashi service policy there's no mention of warranty will be invalid for fungus and explained everything to them. Now they called up Sambhu and told me to talk with him over phone. So I staterd talikng with him over phone with a strong voice.

Now Sambhu again telling me all sorts of those fungus ( and said it's physical damage ) craps and he said he has written fungus clearly on RMA paper

I said he first accepted it and if fungus is any sort of physical damage how the hell they approved it for RMA. and there's no mention of "fungus" in Rashi service policy on website.

He said that I should seek warranty from XFX and but not from Rashi but I said according to XFX - warranty is the responsibility of reseller and In this case rashi is the reseller and Rashio clearly mentioned about 3 years replacement warranty on all xfx gfx card on their website and on the box of gfx card and on the RMA paper.

Now again Sambhu tried to give me those "fungus" craps but now I said he accepted it for RMA first, wrote fungus on the RMA paper after one week without my acknowledgement and have not even showed me where there service engineer saw fungus so how come I can believe that they have not done anything wrong with the card in their service center and it's obvious that he is lying and I don't trust his claims about "fungus"

Now he said that he has no personal issue with me and why I'm not not trying to understand.

I told him that of course I have no personal issue with him but it's just because of him and his ill fungus reason my warranty is being denied and I just want my proper rights as a consumer.

Now he said me to come to their service center and he will check the card again infront of me.

So I went to the service center, waited one more hour and around 2 PM Sambhu told me to submit the card and they will test it.

At 2.35 PM their service engineer began testing it when he pointed at the dust and before he said anything I stopped him and with a angry voice I said stop lying and not to give those crap reasons again - It's just dust and how come he is so illiterate that he can't even recognize dust.

Now he told Sambhu that the card need to be repaired and I said I will not tolerate such nonsense things anymore and I want my card to be replaced. Now Sambhu told me to come the next day.

I told him everything has it's limits and I have reached the last point of my tolerance. More than 2 months has passed since they are cheating with me and wasting my time and if he want to do anything do it here and now.

Now he told me to wait for 30 mins and at 3.20 PM gave me a new box packed 8600 GT.

Really great TopGear, congrats mate for having your new graphics card and obviously for teaching Rashi some lessons. These guys actually think technically they are superior than us, common people and can make us understand anything they want. But I told earlier, they tried to install Nvidia driver to my ATI card.
So one lesson from my experience as well as Topgear's, the shops from where we bought those cards can force Rashi guys to a large extent. In my case Vedant helped me a lot by contacting Rashi persons from me and in Topgear's case it is also true.
So at least before submitting cards for RMA, we can inform the Shops from where we have bought the cards and also cleaning of the card is necessary as I mentioned earlier.

yep, I'm a bengali guy and I've heard about that proverb and another one is appropriate for them - tit for tat. Yep, I did it in front of others.

I don't think they have learned much from it. The prob is in their attitude ( These guys actually think technically they are superior than us, common people and can make us understand anything they want ) and they will never change that.

In your case Vedant called up Rashi guys and they helped you a little bit.

But in my case the shop first ignored it and refused to do anything about it. They were playing blame game about the product warranty. But after my elder brother scolded them really well they listened. Most of the time the shops don't want to do anything about warranty unless you are facing some warranty issue with it and some time some hard efforts needs to make the shops listen.

@topgear: congrats, u won the battle with XFX/Rashi.....

Congrats.....at last....such a relief.

See one or two ppl's misjudgment create such crap to the genuine customer. One more thing when Topgear visit with his brother appear themselves as rude, that particular guy can't hold him as well as the shop itself.

So when you go for RMA, first day go alone, but in the delivery day visits in numbers. :)

I learned some things here,

1.Clean the card as much as possible as you can before RMA.
2.Day of delivery visits with some people who can act adequate if necessary.
3.Mentally prepared yourself.

Now, Let me know where I can buy Silica Gel in chandni ?

Yep,they would be always the same and I'm sure of it.

I guess you know it really well how hard it's hard to find a good branded product in in Kolkata - Say you want to buy a gfx card and the shops are all flooded with XFX. The other brands are really scarce or not available at all. That's why people sometime have to settle for for for products even after knowing that the distributor is not good enough.

Take the example of cilus - he wanted a HD6870 but no brands were available except XFX. So even after having warranty issue he have to settle for gfx card from same manufacturer.

It's the duty of manufacturer ( In here read XFX ) who should look at quality of Rashi's service and make the decision because they have some major responsibility about warranty and customer satisfaction as along with distributors.

Congrats on getting the replacement...justice served atlast... :)

Thanks buddy.

yep, thanks and those points are really nice. it's an example of desperate times desperate measures.

Always stay strong at your point and keep on demanding for your rights as a consumer again and again.

Silica gel can be bought from medicine shops I guess.

BTW, take a lookat this and I think every manufacturer and distributor should learn from this ( what called proper service )

Only out of respect for the forum rules & (somewhat) fear of temp. ban (read: asingh :p ) will I not fulfill my heart's dearest wish to congratulate Rashi on their terrific support with a beautiful sarcastic comment.
