Recommendations for ebooks reader or tablet

I am a CA student and always on move due to audit programme.
Since our books are bulky I need a device (ebook reader or tablet or anything else) with which I am able to read my text books on the move.

I donot like the eink in Kindle as it flickrs during any operations.

Requesting recommendation for a good product that is under 14K

How will u get the study materials in digital format...

All the books are available in pdf format from institute.

What about just getting an Ipad? Blackberry Playbook, or Asus Transformer is also great. So is the Samsung Note 10.1
