Try losslesscut

official site is *www.mifi.no/losslesscut/

It can cut files without re-encoding, which is what I think you're looking for.

Ffmpeg is as simple as it gets, though I don't remember all the command line arguments.

Perhaps @aaruni can help here.

@Desmond seems like losslesscut is a ffmpeg gui wrapper.

Makes sense. Most video editors these days use it as a backend.

I have used Avidemux for splitting videos without any conversion. It's free too.

I just use ffmpeg, but I have to look at the documentation whenever I have to do something out of the ordinary. I could craft you a command if you tell me, but losslesscut looks like a fine choice (FOSS, uses ffmpeg in the backend).

downloaded & extracted ffmpeg.exe but doesn't work :( Even running it as an administrator doesn't, any suggestions?

Losslesscut install includes the FFMPEG components and does not require you to use the commandline or anything. Did you try it out?

P. S. Disclaimer - I'm not associated with the program or its developer in any way, I'm only a happy user :)

I hope you're being sarcastic, otherwise i'd take it as a very personal insult. In real life I'm a senior manager at an Indian NBFC.
