Budget is Rs. 1500.

Require a WAN side with both RJ11 (hence modem reqd) and RJ45.

Wireless range should be maximum possible in this budget.

Also, my friend has Tikona (Tikona Wireless Broadband Plans | Internet Services Provider | Broadband Plans, Wi-Fi plans high quality | Broadband) broadband and would like to know if any special setup would be required to make the router work.

any ADSL modem with more than 1 lan port is also a router.get this:

assuming he won't ever use RJ11 (hence RJ11 is not necessary), what's the best in the budget?

2 antennas model provides slightly better range & increased wifi lan speed(300mbps over 150mbps) which will come in handy if your friend routinely transfer big files between laptops using wifi.

Get Netgear or Cisco they are best in class.
